8 years isn't enough time to fight about where to put it.

By the time they get the bridge finished we will have flying cars.

People also seem to be forgetting that they pulled $240mm from the bridges megaproject fund to pay for Landry's tax plan.

they have drilled and tested the soil for what is called a geotechnical investigation, completed a topographic survey and performed a subsurface utility engineering analysis to reduce the risk of damaging utility infrastructure during construction.
That’s great and all but did they figure out how to put the pylons in without them sinking halfway thru the project as with the Intracoastal bridge?

I actually think it’ll be further south than Plaquemine Point. It makes more sense because they can eventually extend the roadway thru the lake formerly known as Spanish Lake and connect to Bluff Rd/74

i'm all for this... makes getting to Houston so much easier, not having to go all the way through BR, especially coming back from Houston....

They built the Hoover dam in 3. That’s how far we’ve fallen.

She is an idiot. "Oh lets not fix a traffic disaster because of some trees"

Where can I place a bet on “not gonna happen in the next 20 years?

Plaquemine Point. So it will basically be a loop.
Right over my duck hunting spot.

Yeah right. Morons in charge can’t get shite done

NIMBY and politics still play a role. Like in the 90s when they killed a new bridge and a loop.
Who you vote for is important. People who are vocal get what they want. The folks who didn't want a bridge won.

I look forward to my great grand children driving across it in their flying car when it opens around 2100.

You had to add inflation and other cost factors that will delay the opening to 20-Never.

Hate people like you. You realize how fricked this country would be without imminent domain. You would not have any electricity because nat gas pipelines deliver the energy source for turbines that power the grid. You would not be able to drive because there would be no pipelines to deliver oil to refineries thereby no gasoline. You wouldn't be able to cook food because no electricty or gas stove because nat gas would be gone.
Tell me you live in a cookie cutter subdivision without telling me.

Odd, I have been paid for access for most of the above without having my land taken.
I've also refused access for things I didn't agree with.
It's astonishing how so many of you complain about the government, or taxes, or welfare taking your money and giving it to others... Yet you find it perfectly acceptable for the government to say "your land isn't yours"
Feckless cowards.

They need to locate the bridge on a map and immediately propose the major connectors to integrate the highways on the West Bank and the highways on the east bank with the new bridge.
They didn’t do that on the east bank of the Sunshine Bridge. The fact it’s not directly connected to I-10 via a four lane limited access highway is a joke.
