Politicians screwed up the ability to finish 3132 by allowing a housing development in the path
People like you will find ANYTHING to complain about…and get your facts straight. No housing development in the way of 3132. It connects with 220 loop. You prob talking about where I49 ends. Hopefully, new Administration will fast track the inner city connector.
For all of Shreveports issues, at least they have loops & nice parkways on either side of the river.

i dont understand though why they are making the announcment on groundbreaking, they been working on it for a year now moving the pipelines going to the docks on the south side for that long
Lots of things must happen before official construction kicks off. Utilities, land acquisitions, geotech, etc... It's a process.

No. I'm talking about the southern terminus of 3132 at Esplanade Subdivision that is in the way of completing it to the Port.
MPC to vote on subdivision that could halt 3132

Ultimately, the city council agreed to the application with the modifications.
Before the vote was cast, members of the pubic were able to speak their mind.
“Someday, people will be driving around and they'll take a left off of Flournoy Lucas, and they'll say, 'Daddy, how come we always do this?'” said one resident. “And they'll say, 'Well they just couldn't decide to build 3132 years ago and now there's houses there so we can't do it son.'”
They may still be able to squeeze in an extension to the Port. A private toll road developer is talking about it, but there is opposition to it ... from the folks who built in the path.

The whole town is a disaster. If you pass through on either of the interstates, don't stop.
Is it?
And why? How is LC any different than most other cities in the south?
Also, this groundbreaking thing was just photo op bullshite. They “broke ground” months ago. They’re already have pilings and concrete foundation on one of the Westlake side supports.

Don't forget it's going to be a toll bridge. Taxes on top of taxes.

Good. That little 16¢ gas tax you pay isn’t going to pay for this.

Id prefer toll roads over raising gas tax

Then you know a groundbreaking is ceremonial and is a media thing, not really tied to NTP.

I just hope by the completion date LA enters into a multistate tolling arrangement where other state tags like Florida and Texas are usable on the bridge. That way LA is not sending out notices to out of state drivers with out of state tags and missing out on revenue because they refuse to pay or ignore notices while they already have a tag for their corresponding state. Plus, the Causeway should be forced to join too with a single tag account and none of this funny business for having two tolling accounts, one for a GeauxPass and another for the Causeway, but share a single tag sticker.
For the legal eagles out there, is there any mechanism if a driver fails to pay a toll notice to hold hostage vehicle registration renewals or income tax refunds until the unpaid tolls are paid.
Bridge will be much lower.
Here is an artist conception flyover from westbound I-10.
