Our grandchildren will take that bridge to leave Louisiana after getting their TOPS funded tuition at LSU.

I’m at the Nugget. Landry flew in on a chopper and landed at the Nugget pad. 12 LSP motorcycles escorted him to and from. Big spectacle.

I have said more prayers while driving over that bridge than I have in church.

If you really want them, just walk up there with a Mexican hot wrench* in a backpack and get them. If you look crossing it you would not be the first.

*or a Milwaukee Hackzall if you want to go all modern like the cat thieves

When I moved to Shreveport, I said that the highway/street system beat the hell out of other LA cities, but they needed to (1) complete the 3132 Loop and (2) replace the Jimmie Davis Bridge over the Red River.

Politicians screwed up the ability to finish 3132 by allowing a housing development in the path, and 3132 has also decayed to a horrific state of disrepair.

But after many fits and starts, and decades later, they have finally started replacing the JDB. It's coming along nicely, but the timing is so that I will probably make my first trip across it in a moving truck on my way out of state.

The whole town is a disaster. If you pass through on either of the interstates, don't stop.

It's shorter than the Baton Rouge bridge by 40 feet.
It's also longer than the Baton Rouge bridge by 2,000 feet.

for those saying it will never be done in time...it will for 2031 as that is already way longer than the original date

i dont understand though why they are making the announcment on groundbreaking, they been working on it for a year now moving the pipelines going to the docks on the south side for that long
