Have you tried possibly utilizing the door as a barrier?
Normally would be the first option, but some of the offices didn't have doors or walls for a few months post-Ida

None of this happened.
Except the part that someone new started at your office. People probably like him better than you too.

I showed up to my first day at my first real job in a 3 piece suit. It happens.

He probably said the same thing about you

Help the new kid learn people skills, like the importance of the "club tie and the firm handshake"
Posted on 8/2/22 at 7:45 pm to Tigerbythetale
You freaked him out so bad he's nie sitting in the hotel bar trying to tie one on with a bartender that's ignoring him....

Op probably begs the boss to host team happy hour events

You might want to be nicer to him as he will probably be your boss one day.

He brings up at least 3 times unsolicited how he prefers to bring his lunch since cafeterias are overpriced.
He’s probably got that 129k of student loans …

The kid interrupts me while I’m in the middle of a conference call to ask me why his mouse isn’t working. I nicely put myself on mute and defer him to a colleague
You have a new hire setting up his desk in ear shot and interrupting you on conference calls? Sounds awesome. You must be important.

Ignore him, take a shite on his desk, PIIHB, update my resume?
I find it interesting that you felt compelled to include this.

This is a ridiculous post. It's his first damn day. He's nervous as hell. Just deal with it until he figures it out on his own. At this point, I feel sorry for him working with a douchebag like you.

After graduating college, I started my first real job. I was hired at the same time as someone else, so we were sort of matched up in a sense and did most of our training together. I was also seated next to him
This guy lacked every fiber of professionalism in the workplace. He had zero social awareness. It’s like he watched The Office and assumed that’s how a work place operated
He would constantly talk to me over our cube farm divider and get me in trouble for constantly talking instead of working, when I would do all but blow off the conversation
My supervisor ended up telling me that he knows I’m not f’ing off and to just ignore him.
shite was insufferable. He was a really nice guy, but terrible to work with
