Lost an ex-employee awhile back. Young welder. Making 6 figures, a lot of it tax free. Died about two weeks after his second child was born.

His wife and kids are fricked....thanks to opioids and heroin.

I live in a very nice middle-class, swim and tennis neighborhood. Kid graduated an expensive private high school and quit USCe after one semester. He told his mom all everyone did there was drink and that wasn’t for him. Moved home and got a job at a pet store.

Boy needed the USMC

Are you really one of those "marijuana cures all" types?

Go look at research, your brain is still developing up to 25 years of age and research companies have determined that using marijuana before the age of 25 with any regularity is bad for the development of your brain.

You sound like an idiot stoner who believes every physical ill is cured by getting high.

If you want marijuana legalized you're not going to win over any conservatives against it with that view.

The kid shouldn't have to take any drugs, period.

Where as alcohol is food for a developing brain

Who said anything about alcohol? I never said he should drink alcohol at all.

Both are not innocent what so ever and they should be treated with the respect of a potentially harmful substance when taken at certain levels.

It's not just young people. The opioid drug epidemic seems to be centered on middle-aged people. Young people are certainly dying from ODs but they don't outnumber middle-aged people.

I don’t smoke but I’m for legalizing weed but that has nothing to do with this. Legalizing weed will have zero effect on the opioid epidemic.

Opiate overdoses are actually about 20-25% lower in states with legal weed. There was a study that looked into that in Colorado and Washington.

My little brother has flatlined twice IN my parents house. It’s a shitty thing to have to go through but now their parents will forced to be proactive. Hope he recovers well enough to realize the damage he’s doing to himself and his family.

what's the research say about drinking alcohol with regularity for brain development? Did you know it's legal to buy and consume as much alcohol as you want before you turn 25?

How do cigarettes affect the development of a youth's brain and body? I'm pretty sure they're really bad for young people as well, but you can legally buy and smoke a carton a day at age 18.

I don't smoke weed and could give a shite if it's legal, but your "it's bad for you" argument is total bullshite. The government let's people do plenty of things that are terrible for them.

The more I think about it the more it makes sense. Especially in the case of an addiction starting with a prescription due to injury.

If weed can manage the pain, that is infinitely better than a prescription for a highly addictive drug.

Sorry your neighbor's son is a degenerate, drug addicted piece of shite. Sounds like he was given every advantage in life and still managed to frick it up.

Can I ask why you're bringing up alcohol?
I'm in favor of legalizing marijuana, wayyyyy in favor of it.

I'm not in favor of telling any kid who has any mental issues to smoke up as a cure all to his problems, aka the stoner solution.

Smart and well informed implementation is the only way to make sure marijuana legalization is accepted and safely used.

I give no fricks about alcohol. Stop talking to me about fricking alcohol. Its already legal and its definitely not good for developing brains either I'd imagine and legal drinking age is 21.

Marijuana doesn't help pain for all cases.

If were talking strictly in terms of pain killer opioids destroy marijuana.

Though pain tolerance is a case where I'm in favor of marijuana as an option for people.

Also seizures and epilepsy.
