Damn thing won't run. I mean it is as if the thing is unplugged. I replaced the switch and the thermal fuse tonight. No dice. Suggestions before I call a repairman?

might be a stupid question, but are you sure you have power to the receptacle?

Try resetting the motor:

Unplug for a minimum of 2 minutes.
Plug it back in and open and close the lid 6 times in less than 12 seconds.

See if that helps

I was coming here to post this. This trick worked on my Whirlpool. I found it online and tried it several times with no luck. What I realized is that the lid/door has to be fully opened and fully closed each time. They also say 12 seconds, but it’s closer to 7 or 8. You have to be really quick and efficient. No wasted movements.

1. Does the drum spin with no resistance?
Some units know when the belt is broken with a switch in the tensioner. It cuts power to the motor.

The thermal fuse is a prime cause, but you changed that.

The door switch is also new?

The start switch could be an issue.

Though IF an electric dryer I'd make sure you didn't have a half dead breaker. I see that all the time

IF you know how to properly use a multimeter, it shouldn't be a hard fix. Or at least be able to determine what is the cause.
Dryers aren't too complicated. Oh, just an FYI, some, if not all, dryers have more than one thermal fuse.

It doesn't even try to turn on. Checked breaker. Fine. Washer hooked up to same breaker and works.

I’m going to take this opportunity to tell everyone on this board that the 2018 Speed Queen washers and driers (which is the current models available) are garbage.
This board highly recommended Speed Queen’s 2017 models. The Federal Government got involved and forced certain changes or Speed Queen just decided to ruin a good thing but whatever my new Speed Queen washer has broken and been repaired 3 times already and it’s only 6 months old. I’m ready to declare the lemon law. The drier is loud and noisy as hell. Doesnt dry on the original cycle. I am very disappointed in my Speed Queen so please research all models before purchasing this garbage.

If the dryer is electric, how the hell are they on the same breaker?

If it’s gas, ignore my question.

My dryer just started squeaking. Works fine , just a squeak. Anyone? Belt? Pulley?

If it sounds like it is toward the back of the dryer, probably a drum bearing. If it sounds like it is at the top, probably a belt.

ETA: mine was a drum bearing, fixed it after watching some YouTube videos

Had a problem with my washer a few weeks back. I tried the whole resetting the motor thing by opening and closing the lid, but no luck. Next I replaced the lid sensor and it worked for a short time. Finally I pulled out the controll panel and completely disconnected the board from everything. I gave it a few minutes, plugged all of the wires back in and haven’t had a problem since... I’m not entirely sure why that worked other than I believe removing it from all potential power sources, stored or otherwise fully reset the board. Give it a try and see if that works.

If washer is on same breaker then it's a gas dryer.

A gas whirlpool not running can only be six things.

No power
Bad thermal fuse (there is only once thermal fuse, the other are bimetals) thermal fuse is plastic and white with blue wires
Broken start switch
Broken belt switch
Broken door switch
Bad timer.

Not even trying makes me think bad door switch
