Party is today so online ideas isn’t an option.

Wasn’t planning on attending but happenstance put me in the same city so now I can go.

Thanks in advance for any serious answers that this board might produce.

Are they registered anywhere?

If nothing else comes to mind, get them a very nice bottle of wine.

Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift, and uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern. Okay, let's get two! Go get 'em.

Give the future bride a Tigerdroppings account. We could use more gals around here.

Don’t bring a gift to an engagement party. Get a wedding gift at the appropriate time.

I know it seems shitty to just get them a gift card, but if we would have just gotten gift cards we wouldnt of had to bring back all the stuff we didnt register for or want.

I would wait on a nice gift for the wedding. I know people that will bring a nice bottle of wine or glasses. A nice bottle of wine would work.

Some girls like to get cute and make a small basket with some glasses or picture frames but they really like to get into it.

A card and bottle of wine is plenty. Don't even really need to do that. It's just the engagement party, not a shower.

This is what I was thinking but hate showing up anywhere empty handed. Wine and a nice bottle of bourbon may be the solution.

Typically you don’t bring a gift to an engagement party, you bring a gift to the wedding.
If you want to, nice wine and / or glasses would be acceptable if they drink.

Go to Cindie's on Sherwood. Tell them Langland sent you and get 25% off.

I always thought of the dude when buying engagement presents. The chicks get everything. I would always try to thing of something the guy could use like grilling utensils or tools.
