Classical PR music is acoustic guitar, not much played anymore. Modern PR music is an 8 foot gazillion amp speaker in your living room. The concrete walls shake, while the grid bogs down.

Puerto Rico needs to be cut loose. It is a relic of imperialism. Either cut them loose, or make them a state. This quasi-crap is an eye sore.

And yet Tony Hinchcliffe is somehow a racist and uncaring when this administration hasn’t done shite for them.

Customers don’t want to up their bill by 20-30% to build additional generation that rarely gets used. Understandable, but yes there is potential for huge consequences.

of course not - but why should the customers be on the hook to pay for all of it anyway? with rate hikes now, Utilities are raking in record profits which goes to shareholders and not the infrastructure.

people would likely be a little more willing to consider a hike to help the infrastructure, but we all know that money goes to pay the board and share holders.

Cut them loose is the only correct answer.

Give them a couple of billion to accept the deal.

It’ll be way cheaper than pouring good money into a bad investment.

It’s a US State like the Philippines or Cuba were.

Absolute garbage place and garbage people. Would love for the US to invade it. Have a feeling we might.

It's a US territory. Why would the US invade?

When storms come through Florida, things have gotten pretty good with regard to response time in getting the grid back up. Why can't we cut a check to someone like Florida Power & Light to go into PR and take over the grid and do things right?

Knew a native of PR. She said it’s not a good place to live.

Same for the east coast, just on a much much bigger scale

The East Coast blackout in the early 2000s was caused by an exact event like that IIRC.

Substation blew somewhere in Ohio and caused cascading failures which left most of the eastern seaboard without power.

Being on an island causes one set of logistical problems.

Entrenched corruption is another problem.

Well this isn’t how regulated utilities work, so until you understand those fundamentals, this conversation is futile.

We did. Luma is a JV between Quanta and ATCO.

It’s just been such a fricking shite show and PR is such a political dumpster fire that it doesn’t matter how good they are it’ll take a century to unfrick it.
