I have a flight leaving out of Columbus at 615pm. I need to start looking at hotels I guess

I think our IT dept may have overstated their fix. Just walked thru the office and there’s a ton of blue screens in recovery mode.

After backups, testing changes in a test environment before deploying them in operational systems is rule number two in IT/OT.
The problem as systems get more complicated and interconnected is that the test environment is never exactly the same as the online system.
I don’t know the details here, but that is my best guess at what happened.

UAB hospital ER is down too so hospitals impacted.
I'm in IT and we use crowdstrike, no issues yet.

Imagine being the tech that did the update.
A tech would just be doing what they are told by higher ups. Not their fault at all.

It's almost like centralizing everything is a bad idea.

Update from the other side.
I am a travel agent- there are no flights running anywhere right now.
You can try to reschedule but who knows when/if they leave today.
Buckle up boys and get a good magazine!

Well, that depends. Did the pilots boot the plane in Safe mode and remove that file or did they just wing it barnstormer style?

Turned on my computer for work today
And we're good so far. I'm guessing our EHR doesn't use Crowdstrike.

Idk but all things making me feel worried about my return flight on Sunday.
Posted on 7/19/24 at 8:17 am to jennyjones
Glad we flew back last Thursday as opposed to yesterday.
But spending an extra day or two in Calgary wouldn't have been the worst thing.
ETA: We flew WestJet, which is Delta's Canadian arm, so we would have been grounded.

Hospitals are definitely affected because my wife is In Charge today at her unit. It's a shitshow.
