I went to Zion a month ago and I saw a 300 lb black woman in a red cocktail dress and high heels (!!!) walking the paved trail that leads to the Narrows.
I swear I am not making that up. I honestly stopped and looked around for a camera crew or someone filming her thinking it was some type of joke or video production. Nope. Just a dazzling queen inspired by Obama's narration on the Netflix NP documentary.
High fricking heels and a cocktail dress...on a hiking trail...in southern Utah!
Oh, and this trail was at the very back of the park and they have a mandatory shuttle system and it was late in the day and the last shuttle was leaving in less than 30 min. I was heading back to make sure I would catch the shuttle and she was going the other way. I guarantee her fat arse missed that last shuttle and someone had to come fetch her.

My favorite part of Yosemite was Tuolumne Meadows. There was a cool little pond and clearing off the road on the way that made for a great picnic spot. I have heard tell there is a way to cross country ski from near Mammoth Mountain across the pass into Yosemite in the winter. Always thought that would be cool.

I just had a couple miles of trail to myself in a national forrest. it definitely wasn't yellowstone or grand teton but there was no traffic and I was the only person in the area.

Suggestion: Dont go to Jenny Lake or Gatlinburg. I drove 20 miles of the Smokies today and passed one car and didnt see one person on a 5 mile hike.

OF is just one geyser in a large area of geysers.
There are others that are nearby that are within an easy walk and they post predicted eruption times for some of them.

That's not true about Yosemite or GSMNP. The popular trails in both that are around 4-5 miles long are just lines of people if you don't get started early. By 10-11, they can have traffic jams on the trails. Get up and out at 7, and you're good. Parking in GSMNP is horrendous. You can't find a spot at a trailhead unless you're there by 7:30 am.

Went to Jackson and Yellowstone 3 weeks ago, only crowding we ran into was at Jenny Lake in Teton NP.

Goes to 2nd most crowded national park at the height of summer, surprised there are thousands of people.
