The Van Life phenomena and the epidemic increase in homelessness both impact the National Parks system BIGLY ! If one is forced to live in ones van/truck/car, a national park beats a Walmart parking lot.

Was at Shenandoah National Park today. Beautiful day and very few people.

We did a 4 park road trip (New River, Shenandoah, Cuyahoga Valley, Indiana Dunes) and stayed at Skyland in mid-June. I was surprised at how empty the park was, especially considering the proximity to DC. I’d love to go back when the leaves are changing.

Finished up a trip to Grand Tetons/Yellowstone and this shite is ridiculous. National parks are no better than amusement parks at this point. Have to get up at the arse crack of dawn or we will spend hours waiting in line or looking for parking. Infant babies crying everywhere making it feel like an airport. If one more person asks me to take their picture I will drop their phone off the cliff! Stay in your caves you heathens!

Yellowstone is always empty except for the giant loop filled with fatasses and their window licking kids in SUV's trying to see a bison from the air conditioned comfort whilst cramming down Cheetos.

I’m going to the Columbia River Gorge area of Oregon the middle of September. Hopefully, it’s not too packed.

And the federal government is bemoaning the fact that not enough minorities visit the National parks. This would only make them more crowded.
We are going to Grand Teton and Yellowstone in October, which is the low season. Hopefully, most of the crowds will be gone.

What’s your solution? Raise prices to get in?

the solution is to skip the developed areas and head into the wilderness areas/backcountry.

fat, lazy, and unhealthy people who can't be bothered to walk more than 50 feet from their cars won't venture out there.

Worked in Yellowstone back in the 70's & back then, from mid June till mid Aug. the Park was almost a parking lot. The Park is basically a large circle & it would get bumper to bumper at some points. Old Faithful area was like Bourbon St. during Mardi Gras. Only time to go is mid May & then late Aug.

Just went to Sequoyah, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite.

Sequoyah was awesome. Crowds were small, people were nice as can be, and the landscape/weather/wildlife are spectacular.

Kings Canyon was very 'meh' and Yosemite was a zoo with no zookeepers.

Went to Joshua Tree earlier this year. That's three and a half hours of my life I'll never get back. Waste of time.
