probably wouldn’t go there just because of that
HD Gibbes has excellent steaks . They have an ice filled water trough with beer in it. Grab what you want on the honor system. It’s a cool place.

Hoots BBQ in McGehee, AR
Needs to be emphasized. I don’t know why, but it seems like most of the small towns in the Arkansas part of the delta don’t have a single restaurant worth a damn.
Minus Hoot’s in McGehee. Solid place.

Castro's cafe in Polk City, Fl has an excellent Cuban sandwich. The have 25 kinds of pastries, cooked in house but I have never tried those.
About 3 generations of family women working there. Most of them 18-late 20's.

Sheila C’s Burger Barn in Auburn, a couple of blocks from Jordan-Hare. The burger and fries are great, and you will see AU coaches there on the regular.

My dad swears up and down about a place that might not even be open anymore, Al T's in Winnie. Every single time we pass through Texas he brings up Al T's and a Dairy King place around that area. He swears they have the best Etouffee he's ever eaten. I'm sure someone here knows the status of Al T's.
I used to do a lot of business in that area, the one thing I looked forward to was stopping at Al T's for a meal. Everything from the fried oysters to the chicken fried steak was excellent, I sent dozens of people there on my referral. Then something happened in the late 90's and it went to hell, real bad, real quick. I stopped doing business in the area, so I lost track.
In a few weeks, we are going to drive to League City, I would love to hear that is has returned to its former glory. It's been there for decades, right where I got off I-10 to go to the Galveston Ferry.

Diamond Jim’s - Livingston, AL
Think I'm eating at Diamond Jim's Saturday night.
I would offer Roebuck's Landing outside of Eutaw as well for this thread but it burned down
