My buddy sold his place in the Settlement at Willow Grove for like 1.2.-1.3 in a week or 2.
I've been in a few houses back there. They are really nice but have no yards. There are a number of them over 1 mil.

Well you would probably need to make about 375k-450K as a family to afford the home easily. That is pretty doable. Obviously the majority of the residents can't afford that, but that is not some ridiculous number. We have 100's of MD's in Baton Rouge alone. Most can afford those homes. We have 100's of dentist. A chunk could afford those homes with a working spouse.

Honestly the only thing surprising to me about baton rouge real estate is that there are so many cheap properties in town that could be rehabilitated / remodeled yet people have to live in a specific area of town to keep up appearances. It is specific areas that have high values then one neighborhood over is cheap compared to it.

It's got no yard. So many of these expensive houses in the 600-800+ range have no yard which is crazy to me.

It's pretty hard to show off and be pompous about a lawn and bedding. Heated square feet, amenities, and location is what matters.
Get with it, guy.

I think these homes are just old money families selling houses that were passed down to them. I don’t see how people can afford this I’m BRs economic climate
There is plenty of money in Baton Rouge dude, 86 homes currently for sale at over a million is just a drop in the bucket

There are 225 homes > $1 million in Orlando.
225 > 86.
Orlando 160% > Baton Rouge and I loved Cadillac and those places on Bennington.

Look at price per SF though. Some of these are in the $240-275 range. That's cheap if you think about it. The Warehouse District in New Orleans is at $400 per SF.
