Because tons of people in the south own businesses that are tied to the region and they would prefer (and can afford) to live in a really nice house?

Out of 8K homes for sale in Naples, 1,448 are over $1M
that kinda surprised me

I just did my county and it's "only" 817 for sale 1M+

The ones in CCL have all been on the market over a year and are highly over priced.

We have 3...

The housing market is tight here and homes are expensive but you don't see a lot of extravagance.

A married couple where both man and woman work and each pull in $200k+ doesn’t make it that hard to afford a $1millon dollar home, and pretty common.

I make $225ish and the ol’ lady makes $150ish. We can afford that easily.

Meh, we are looking in an area where there are only 81 homes under $1M and those are dumps.

Yeah, the appearance of not being riddled with bullet holes.

One of the most asinine things I’ve ever read on this board. Troll or not.

There is a reason so many million dollar homes are still for sell here.

There are lots of areas not named Gardere, Mall City, and after Indian reservations or Presidents that won’t cost 1M/yr in BR.

There also isn’t a huge difference in 600-700k houses and 1mil houses in many areas of BR. Now get to 1.5+ and it’s quite significant.

A lot of houses near the lakes, garden district, mid city and other desirable areas are 600+. Do I think they should be cheaper? Yes but that’s the market for now.
