Why is it so hard for some people to say black lives matter and do it without feeling like their life or race is being marginalized? I've been guilty of it at times.

Why is it so hard for some people to say slavery was a disgusting inhuman industry linked to this countries history without bringing up how slavery was all over the world and African tribes sold slaves or how their race and ancestors were beaten and mistreated also? I've been guilty of it at times.

I can see how some people can feel like that is marginalizing a topic of great importance to them, even if it is not of great concern to some of us. Seem like this is where a lot of anger comes from.

I used to be one of the one that thought get over it, it happened 150 or more years ago. But think about that, can you even comprehend what it meant to be a slave? I thought I did, or could but the truth is I had and have no clue but listening to this man Fountain Hughes made me understand that slavery is very much a part of black history and Americans history. And no amount of ignoring it or trying to push it out of sight will change that. It's still very much an open wound for this country and will eventually have to be addressed and not by destroying America, White America. That as you can see is only creating more division and opening the wound further. Tearing down statues wont solve it any more than forgetting or ignoring the history of slavery. I don't agree with the way it's being handled right now but I understand why it's being handled the way it is right now.

I know TL/DR

Just watch the video then Fountain Hughes This man is American history.

Why is it so hard for people to let go of shite they never experienced or has infected this country in over a 150 years now?

Why is racial identification and pride a positive for society now In lieu of treating people like individuals over being a white man, or a black man. Why can’t you just go by your NAME and not your race?

My neighbors are AA. The husband loves Madden but hates NBA2K. His favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys. They invited us over to eat boiled turkey necks, once or twice. The wife is an English school teacher. My GF is in a book club with the wife.

Nope. And neither can 99.999% of the rest of America.

I don't feel any of what OP feels. I feel like everyone should work hard, not get their feelings hurt and shut the frick up.

Saying Black lives matter or that slavery is wrong isn't what people are having a issue with, Bubba.

Because in a good world, does this need to be said? Do not all lives matter equally? Besides, when the black community stops massacring each other in the streets, then perhaps I may take their call more seriously. The white man isn't their main problem.

Because I do not like people who have never suffered from the effects of slavery trying to make me, someone who never owned slaves, feel guilty for something I did not do.

No, I cannot. And neither can they.

These idiots are trying to destroy the best damn country in the world. Is it perfect? Hell no, but I challenge you to name someplace that is better and give me a valid reason why. Is police reform necessary? Perhaps, but it should be advocated for across the board, and not just for political reasons to appease one minority. For 99.9% of the possible discrimination minorities face today, there are legal mechanisms for them to combat it. I guess it's just easier though to riot and burn things down.

Because, no matter how repugnant it is today, it was acceptable behavior at the time. No one knew better until they became civilized. History is full of slavery, victors raping and pillaging, duals with swords and guns all seen as repugnant today

Stopped reading after this. Anyone who says these two magic words and it's a guarantee that it's a shitty thought.

Enjoy your downvote.

Black Lives Matter has nothing to do with actual Black Lives. That's why people hate it so much. It's a sham group based in no actual statistical backing

Why is so hard to tell the truth that blacks lives apparently don't matter to blacks as suggested by black on black crime statistics?
And tell me why I should give a damn about a thug with a rap sheet as long as your arm who was killed by police while resisting arrest?
