no, not more veggies.
I was at my campus subway today and the cashier handed my order in a plastic bag and told me subway is discontinuing bags. I guess i will have to bring a gunny sac to bring my order back.
maybe the paper wrappers are next, just hand you the sammy.

They've always been green considering they only give you one napkin with a sandwich.

"one-time use" items are on the environmental hit list.

And terrible for you.

You can blame the "save the trees" movement in the 80s that brought on those terrible plastic bags. I miss having a paper sack for things. One guaranteed renewable resource that we have and we abandoned it for something that doesn't break down.

Good. Single use plastic bags are awful. I've been using reusable cloth shopping bags for years. They're machine washable, cheap and can hold quite a bit in them.

I've asked them before that I don't need the sandwich placed in a bag if all I'm going to do is turn around, walk 10 feet, sit down, and then have to pull the sandwich back out of said bag.
They still did it, out of habit.

So paper bags instead of plastic? I'm a bigtime conservative, but I applaud companies doing this on their own without gov't telling them to do so.

Actually think more places should ask if you want bag and not just give everyone one. Pretty easy to carry a sandwich bag of chips and drink without a bag. Probably needs to be an option though if people want one or need one (multiple orders).

That figures. I've been making an earnest effort to stop using plastic straws too, and I have to remember to tell the drive thru cashier that I don't need a straw with my drink. They sometimes are confused, but say okay and don't give me one.

Yes, like some restaurants in some cities where they just don't automatically give you a plastic straw, unless you request one.

+1
I hope more and more companies get away from single-use plastic bags. They're an awful scourge on the environment. Billions are thrown away every year.
