Congratulations!!!!
Had two boys and just had my first grandchild which is a precious little girl.
Only advice I can give is to soak in every moment because before you know it they will be grown and out of the house.
My oldest turns 30 today and no idea where time went.
Glad I took time to spend time with both of my boys hunting, fishing and coaching them in youth league sports.
Looking back them was the very best of days.

Best parenting advice I ever got was to ignore all the parenting advice I got.
Do what works for your kid and don’t raise a shithead.

Congratulations.
Advice: There will be times when you feel that you may not know what to do. Don’t panic. Trust your fatherly instincts.

Mine too. She sleeps through the night like a champ. It’s been a breeze.

Even the nights where you are rocking her at 1am to go to sleep is actually part of the great experience
Very true. My daughter had colic and was up from 11:00-2:00 every night for a few months. Just crying, nothing you could do.
I would walk around holding her while she cried. Looking back it’s some of my favorite moments even though at the time it sucked.

Congrats man. It took me 41 years. We finally had a baby boy last year.
We got lucky in that. He was a great sleeper pretty much from birth. However, still anticipate being very tired.
Whenever you get frustrated with one stage they are in, remind yourself that it’s the last time you will ever get to see them in that stage. Enjoy it.

My boys did not nurse well. Don't worry. She pumped and I fed them at night while she got some spleep. Around 11 I went to bed and she handled the early morning feedings. It is a blessing. Work together and you guys willl be fine.

Congratulations!
That little girl now owns you, and always will. Spend as much time with her as you can, and love her momma.
Forget sleep.

Congratulations.
I tell most new parents this.... Be present and interested in everything they do as a baby to a teenager.
We have 4 kids from college to 5th grade. It goes by too fast.

1. It goes by fast. She will never be that small again. Try to see past your frustrations with sleep, wife, work, whatever, and really appreciate and enjoy your time with her.
2. Keep the baby and momma on a schedule, especially for sleep, and especially into the toddler years. It will pay dividends.
3. You have a huge influence on the person she will become and the person she will marry and carry your name. Your decisions affect your family tree. Do your best to show and treat her how a man should be expected to treat her. If you don't respect her or yourself, she won't either.

Congrats! Be in the moment. It is a LOT but take some time to appreciate the blessing that is a child because it won't be long before that child is just another adult. Embrace every moment....

Congrats! Had my first at 40, wife was 38. It's exhausting being an older parent. Fun but exhausting. I'm a little jealous sometimes of the late-20- and early-30-somethings in our parent group that seem to have so much time and energy. Definitely motivation to stay in shape so I can keep up with him as he grows up.
