Cabins are fine, but that isn't camping.

I agree. Cabins are just mortgages to go.

Glamping with Tentrr at Grand Isle State park.

You do nothing.

Tent is massive and has bed and they provide new linens and bundles of firewood. Has camp shower and toilet. Tent is on a platform on the beach. They bring out chairs, cowboy grill, picnic table, the works.

All set up by them. You just walk put there and its waiting.

*i took my 6 yr old in May and he loved it. Full disclosure, we had 68 degree cold front and nice breeze the whole time.

Toledo Bend State Park. Small beach area. Paddle boat rental. Hiking trails. Great fishing. ATV trails.

We used it to cook hotdogs on the cowboy grill, not keep warm.

Tickfaw State Park

Good for a quick, first camping experience. Fishing pond, hiking trails, camp spots and cabins. We were there in October and were surprised at the lack of mosquitoes despite swampy areas all around. There's also an easy geocache if your kids like that.

I get the sentiment - my body is a high standard to live up to.

I believe my kids can handle the pressure.

Bogue Chitto is probably the best camp ground in that area.

A great camp ground to go to with kids is Berry Creek Cabins in Bogalusa we did a family camping trip there, rented 3 cabins and had 9 kids… not one single parent or kid complained people that own/run the place are extremely helpful and all around good people kids running wild until 1am playing games, on the swing set playground thing, tire swings

It’s entirely too hot to be camping

During the summer we make sure to go where there are electrical hookups at the tent sites. I bring a high velocity fan that really moves the air in the tent and it stays fairly cool at night.
