I just called the parish and told them my block wasn't draining as well as I thought it should. They were out there two days after inspecting it, and a few days later cleaning the whole thing. You got suckered

I lived with the guy that made this post freshman year at Alabama, and I live in Birmingham currently. Don't know if that rings a bell.

That is a century old excuse

A fact is an excuse? I don’t live in Nola. I don’t care what they do. But they will continue to flood based upon the facts I presented

It doesn’t help none of the drains and the ancient pumps are worthless.

I’ll tell you a little story and how fricked up the city of New Orleans is. My father owns his own pump company. He buys repairs and sells all types of pumps (chemical, water, food, etc). He bid on the nola pumps for the lowest possible margin he could without losing money. I’m talking he bid to where after parts & labor cost, he might’ve made a few hundred. The city backed out on the repairs contrary to belief that they were “fixed”. When he went for his initial inspection, he called me and told me that basically the entire pump system is a colossal piece of shite and will never pump water out efficiently from keeping the city from flooding.

Nola is a disgrace.

I’m surprised this guy wouldn’t be able to tell this catch basin wasn’t draining water when there was a normal shower.

At least Whitey isn't putting hoses in the sewers, in the hood, to flood their homes, like they did in Baton Rouge.

F'in White Devils and their Hoses that cause major floods.

Could the city be successfully sued over this, with them claiming that they have been inspected/cleaned when they clearly haven't been touched in years?

Have fun. If you think the catch basins are bad you should see the backlog of unpaid court judgments. The lack of money flowing there makes the drainage system look efficient.

This is what you get when you run the white people out the city. Sorry if the truth hurts but somebody had to say it.

I always wonder the same thing. The north shore is 10000x better quality of life. And yes, I know the traffic is horrible.

The smart one moved to belle Chasse.

Police officers that respond to 911 calls. A mayor that listens to complaints.

I’m intrigued by the north shore, but I don’t want to deal with the commute.

One drain in front of my house has a leaking pipe next to it. The constant water flow keeps it clean as a whistle.

I suspect you’d find the same type deal in old sections of BR.

The fact is maintains storm drains doesn’t pay off in votes and donations or paybacks to friends. They use tax dollars for a lot of fluff, studies, and wild schemes to create jobs.
