A) I’m not arguing it’s cool. But that it’s real. Unless you think a utility that was on track for bankruptcy this year (prior to the recent tax compromise) is going to suddenly increase the catch basin funding by enough to increase crews and truck by about 30x, citizens will be part of the solution

B) the litter problem is relatively hand in hand here and another spot citizens need to change behavior- both in not littering and not just walking past litter.

Real talk - reassessments paired with getting a lot of properties back in circulation and tax producing should help but the amount we are paying ex-directors at SWBNO and the lack of organizational competence will remain a challenge long term. Someone needs to more publicly quantify the issue but no city official would dream of it because they’d have to fix it and the public struggles to get real data maintain attention beyond “they suck”
