It's so Louisiana that the new airport project was well behind schedule but the interstate access project managed to be years behind its completion anyway.

I'm still waiting for that built out Smoothie King to finally open. It has never been open any of the many times I've flown out of there.
Also, the line for Shake Shack is always 30 mins long.
Otherwise, it's a great airport.

The airport itself is awesome. I just wish there were more direct flights to and from MSY.

I like the food options. But I still don't understand why it is so hard for an airport to build a catwalk so you don't have to hold up traffic of people picking up and dropping people off.

The new airport is amazingly easy to get in and out of and that's from a perspective of traveler(with 4 bad arse kids!), dropping off, and picking up people. I've done all several times now.
My ONE major gripe is the labor shortage bs b/c the TSA lines take a LOT longer than they should when 3 of the 7 or 8 tsa lines are operating on a busy morning.
Otherwise, it's a very nice new airport.

I was pleasantly surprised with how easy to access, to park, and overall navigate the new terminal was.

The car rental center is inconvenient and the concourses should have been a few feet wider by the gates.

It's an island isolated from everything that we love about New Orleans. Of course it is going to be awesome. Maybe there is a lesson for everyone hidden here.

Austin is really good but it will probably become a cluster when they add the second terminal, etc.

Haven't had this issue with Southwest which is the only airline I've flown recently with checked bags.

They are supposed to be building one from long term parking to the terminal. Long term parking was not part of the original plan (it was going to be built later on) but they added it at last minute. For whatever reason they decided to delay the elevated walkway but it's still supposed to happen.

Not sure how it's going to look once traffic counts (hopefully) get back to normal. There were some rough traffic jams in early 2000.
Ida knocked NO metro back, Normal numbers may never be normal again.
