Pile of shite is still a pile of shite it doesn't matter if you're comparing it to other piles of shite.
The old airport was a pile of shite. The new one isn't. the fricking Taj Mahal could be sitting on St Charles avenue and many posters would say it sucks solely because it's in New Orleans.

And before anyone says anything stupid... although the property is located in Kenner, it is owned and run by the
New Orleans Aviation Board, which is a governmental unit of the... City of New Orleans.
Where y'at, haters?
Let’s see if the city can maintain its lofty perch. My guess is 10 years the marvel of the new terminal will be in disrepair.

other foot traffic issue is between the TSA checkpoint and the terminal. The path becomes narrow in front of the stores and that also happens to be the same place where people leaving the airport cross paths with those headed to their gate.
This is the only thing I ever thought they screwed up. it should be twice as wide as it is.
But overall they nailed the terminal. 100x better than the old. It really does blow away places like HOU, DAL, with the natural light, mountains of options for food and drink, and the fact that a lot of options are local options and its not filled with TGI-Fridays or Chili's.
