Hmmmm.....article refers to the person as "her"....but I'm wondering if they asked "her" first what pronouns to use when referring to "her"?

That law doesn't prevent employers from enacting hair policies meant for a legitimate safety purpose. Employer is still within their right to make rules about long hair having to be tied up for jobs that involve working around machinery with moving parts.

Are you assuming that employees, companies, and civil rights attorneys operate on logic when it comes to issues of perceived racial discrimination?

Awful way to die......but, is this like Germany? And if so, who in the world would name a black girl something that sounds exactly like the notoriously most Aryan country in history?

I wonder how many of these people would make these same comments in person?

The girl is dead. Whatever legal issues that is at play, let the lawyers handle all of that, but not on this board. They go straight to racist comments.

I’m actually shocked they allow the employees to have anything that hangs or dangles.

What a terrible way to die. Sad.

Don’t discriminate.

The CROWN Act was created in 2019 by Dove and the CROWN Coalition, in partnership with then State Senator Holly J. Mitchell of California, to ensure protection against discrimination based on race-based hairstyles by extending statutory protection to hair texture and protective styles such as braids, locs, twists, and knots in the workplace and public schools.

Not surprising. Every time I see a chick with braids down past her arse I always imagine that its a safety hazard.

I don't even recommend having loose hair or articles of clothing around my grandchildren when they're eating, much less a baggage handling machine.

terrible. But these women would claim racism if you said your hair needs to be put up for safety reasons.

ive seen it a hundred times growing up and working in restaurants. people not wanting to wear hair or beard nets and black women calling the manager racist for making them put their hair up or put it under a hat.

being this is louisiana, black people tend to think any rule is in place because of racism. thats the only reasoning behind something.

or shite when i worked at a bar clientel would say you are racist because you wont let dudes in wearing wife beaters. its like, grow the frick up and put a shirt on.
