There is a resident baggage handle that frequents the site.

He railed on the new baggage system at this terminal. Guess he is sort of vindicated?

She was from Reserve and went to East St John. There's a good possibility she has friends and family who read the Tigerdroppings.

I assume there are rules about such things? Either she broke a rule, or new rules are coming. Either way, that sounds like a beyond painful way to die.

JBE signed the CROWN Act on Jun 21 of this year. The CROWN Act, which stands for "Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair," amends the definition of intentional discrimination in employment under Louisiana law to include any discriminatory practices with respect to any individual's compensation or terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of "natural, protective, or cultural hairstyle."
That law doesn't prevent employers from enacting hair policies meant for a legitimate safety purpose. Employer is still within their right to make rules about long hair having to be tied up for jobs that involve working around machinery with moving parts.

I don't see how they couldn't.
Large employer.
Regulated industry.

Moving equipment.

No way one isn't in place, or wasn't.

racist conveyor belts.

That should've been protocol already to avoid such a tragedy.

This is what calling "natural hair" and "anti-weave" policies racist will get you. It simply isn't safe. I'm sure it will somehow be the company's fault, even though they surely allow hair like this because of public pressure.

sweet jeebus. hopefully this would have something in the fine details allowing for employers to enforce safety reg right? wouldnt this be against standard osha rules?

Still would cost the employer at least $50k or so to defend the suit and ultimately find out

I read it was a belt loader, which is a conveyor belt on wheels that can incline to reach the luggage compartment and used for loading and unloading bags from the airplane.
The baggage system usually refers to the fixed machinery in the terminal that is used when checking and picking up checked bags.

As gruesome as this is we had a ramper at my previous job walk into a spinning prop of an airplane, ala Indiana Jones.
