Christmas used to be a great tradition of going to the movie theater. Why has Hollywood stopped making actual movies???? These were our options yesterday:

Aqua man
Marry Poppins
Bumble Bee
Spider-Man
The Grinch
Ralph breaks the Internet
....and a couple C level looking movies with ‘stars’ that were fading several years ago.

What’s the deal OT? I guess if one doesn’t like cartoons, the cinema experience is over????

If you want to see a grown up movie, go see Green Book.

What are the PC-ratings of each movie? Choose that way.

Went And saw the Mule yesterday. The theater was full. I got the last seat. Line for concessions was 20+ minutes. Two aquaman shows were sold out. This was in Shreveport.

Was never much of a movie go-er myself, but it seems like the only big marquee stuff are superhero/avernger ish movies. Do they make anything else these days?

Cinema has been shite for 20+ years.

Invest in a home cinema and buy a few blu-rays of classic films from the 70s, when they actually used to make good films.

The Favourite is one of the best movies to come out in the past couple of years.
Vice has Oscar caliber performances.
Bohemian Rhapsody is still in theaters.
Then you have mid-level films like Mary Queen of Scots, and Creed II.

I know that you're going out of your way to complain, but your argument is very thin.

Ten years ago your Christmas choices included Delgo, Bedtime Stories, The Tale of Despereaux, Madagascar 2, Bolt, and The Spirit. Hollywood still makes great movies. You're just looking to complain.

Mule was awesome. Aqua Man and Mary Poppins were decent. What are you expecting, Star Wars or a new Avengers movie? These was decent showings. Summer has taken over release time for biggest movies.

Spider-Man is a really good movie. Like "good chance of winning an Oscar" good. The animation and visual styling are gorgeous and the story's REALLY good. Plays with ideas of what makes a hero, who are heroes, what does it take to become one?

How does a pig talk?

That said, I'm so glad that you have decided to put on the mantle of "miserable frick" so the rest of us don't have to.
