They need to make a pirate-themed pirate place. It could be awesome. They hand you a jug of rum and some hard tack on the way in. You fire canon balls out into a driving range. Those things can’t go more than a couple hundred yards, right? Sing sea songs, pillage a little bit. Nap in a hammock when the rum says so. Optional package to put one leg in a peg prosthesis. Hooks for hands. Everyone gets a parrot. Hell, I’d go.

How about this. They build replicas of pirate ships on a track system. They start far apart and you get to fire like some sort of air soft cannon balls. Then they drift closer and you get to have boarding action and battle with non-lethal cutlasses and pistols

As the article points out, TopGolf is stalling and likely looking for way out of the deal. I’ll bet $100 it never gets built.

They will wait and see the success or failure of this venture. If it fails, they may swoop in a buy it. If it is successful, then they will build their new facility, and bankrupt this venture.

Why go in a build something else when you can buy for pennies on the dollar what a competitor built but couldn’t sustain long term. Retail does this all the time.

Instead of a net fence, they should have built a mound so it could have been a multi purpose golf/shooting range.

There is range by me in Cut Off where you can rent an AR and fire it on their 800 yard range. I remember a controversy when they opened because the levee district was worried that if people missed the mound the next big thing was the levee to hit.

It’ll go the way of Dave & Busters. It will attract a certain clientele that will be unruly and destroy the place. This time they’ll have golf clubs.

As long as they are open at midnite this will plummet the murder rate

These places are good for about 2-4 trips. I don't understand why someone would go over and over again. I was done after the second trip to Top Golf. I'd rather just go play.

If you are nearby, it can be a fun way to go kill a couple of hours when the weather is nice. The Top Golf opened in Birmingham when I was still working downtown, and we had groups from work go about twice a year. And a few of us would go after work when it wasn't a work event, just to grab a few beers and food and hit balls. If I had to make a special trip for it, I wouldn't, but since I drove right past it every day leaving work, it was convenient.

I think you are 100% right here. I was wondering why TopGolf was letting them go first but you are correct

It will be amazing if this place is still in business after two years.

The location is in an absolute terrible place. You can't enter it from the interstate and have to drive through the projects to get to the location

I drive by it everyday, and somehow have miraculously not been pulled from my car and beaten to death. Bunch of idiots in here who hate anything related to New Orleans but will drive into war zone Baton Rouge on Saturday nights. Frick off.

From the interstate. You have to enter it from the complete opposite side.

Didn't Joe Jaeger try for the Top Golf location on the river and then switched to this place when that fell apart?

Top Golf didn't let them go first. The property at the river was much more difficult to get and there has been some drama associated with it.

You need to tell that to all the people that go there every time I pass on the weekends & evenings.

After one for twice, I’m not really that into going to those.

It’s way too expensive just to basically go to an arcade type driving range
