This is an easy decision. Its likely you are making damn good money now (living in Southlake) so doubling it would be a helluva bump. While I love Texas, California is gorgeous. As for cost of living, its not going to be the severe jump everyone is assuming. Selling the rental property in this market will certainly give you some equity to put towards something in Orange County.

As for your political views, I don't necessarily agree with them, but I doubt that matters to you, nor should it. In very few cases would I allow national politics enter into my decision on where to live in this country.

I love how people who consider themselves republicans have this mindset with no irony. FWIW there are democrats who fit the same mold, so I don’t consider it party specific. You’re all cultists.

Just considering housing, taxes, and gas, personally I’d have to be getting paid at least a half mil to even consider moving there. And even then it would be a really tough choice. Perusing Zillow for Orange County houses, what I would consider an upper middle class house in TX, LA, or TN is gonna run you at least 2 mil out there. And that gets you a nice house on a postage stamp lot.

Other thing to consider - the whole area is going to be on massive water restrictions very soon and what water is left is going to cost a fortune.

Currently living in San Diego.

Pros: Weather, Career Advancement, Mountains, Beaches, Golf

Cons: Homeless everywhere, taxes, Gas prices, housing prices, grocery prices, traffic, incoming water restrictions, politics, ocean is frigid 9 months out the year

The wife and I both make six figures and we are leaving within a couple years due to affordability. If you’re household isn’t bringing in at least 300k/year then don’t move.

Hope you like your kids being force-innoculated with a substance that killed 1600 people for every 1 it saved in the UK...

Also hope you don't like defending your family with firearms...

But hey, you're a 'never Trump Rebuplican'... You should love those things anyway!

Before I got sick I didn't even haul loads to Cali anymore because of how insane that state treats truck drivers, I couldn't imagine living out there. NV/ID/AZ is as far west as my rig went.

I authentically disliked Trump my whole life, but he was the best President I’ve ever seen.

Anyone the entire media, bureaucrats, and politicians hate is a damn American hero.

Don’t listen to these idiots, OC is great and plenty of nice towns to live in near Anaheim depending on your budget. OC is still quite conservative and a great place to raise a family(not so much for LA County). Easy access to the beach/mountains and perfect weather year round. If the money makes sense you won’t regret it.

Correct me if im wrong- but it sounds like this board is saying you can’t be a Republican if you dont support Trump… that sounds an awful lot like cultish behavior to me .
Yes, and remember you're a racist if you don't support the skinny little Kenyan cocksucker?

Cultish? You mean like when you filthy pieces of shite on the left taught your children to pray to Obama like he was a God.

This is a cult. YouTube: Mutant bastard spawn of a Democrat praying to Obama.

"Never Trump Republican" = filthy Democrat John McCain type scum.
