We can call it just outside of Boutte to the water park. I averaged around 150.

I just know that I had more gas when I got to BR than I had when I left the city.

It's not the only or main reason as you implied with your post. Why not just let people that know what they're talking about do the talking?

Everything about a motorcycle regarding laws blows my mind...you're sitting on an engine, going 70-80mph with the layers of clothes you have on serving as you're only protection...yet they will throw the book at you if you're caught without a seat belt in a 1/2 ton pickup...not to mention if a kid as young as kindergarten age is tall enough, they can ride on the back

No doubt about it with South America. A 2 lane road down there has 5 lanes working: normal flow, plus motorcycles down the middle, and motorcycles and tut-tuks using the shoulder.

It is crazy. I saw a guy with no legs wearing an orange vest sitting in the middle of the road with a bucket on the end of a stick to collect spare change.

I wasn't aware I was implying it was the only reason, news to me.

Why not be a total douchebag all the time? I even said I don't know exactly what I'm talking about but you can't help yourself

yeah I am going to need a link proving that. No damn way that can be legal.

Just a month or so ago I had one cut in front of me on I-12 in Covington. Weaved in front of me no more than 1 foot from my front bumper at about 70mph. These idiots on these bikes have a literal death wish.

it's legal in California. i did it once on the 101 heading west, when there were 4(?) lanes of cars driving side by side and my son ran off and left me. i was not comfortable because it seemed so unreasonable. i didn't die and got to ride Mulholland to the PCH at sunset, so i guess it was worth it.

It’s actually legal. So no, I would not advise hitting them.

Lane splitting is only fully legal in California. There are about a dozen states that do not mention this in their codified law specifically, LA is among the states that expressly prohibit it.

You literally said the law was made for air cooked bikes and people were taking advantage. That's absurd.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw some dude just flying between cars on I10.

No way that guy lives to a ripe old age.

Did I literally say it was the only reason? Or are you going to tell me you know what I was trying to imply?

No, I'll say it again, it's not something you need to be a douchebag about. Good luck on the rest of your internet arguments today

Go re-read your post and tell me that there are other explanations for the law.

Thanks I guess. I'll watch for the next uninformed thing you post.

If traffic is a parking lot on the interstate due to a big accident, i have no problem with them easing up to the front between the lanes or on the shoulder. They will move quickly once the traffic is freed up. Weaving between traffic while traffic is moving is a very dumb thing to do.

When traveling to some states like California where riding between lanes is legal it always surprises me the first time a motorcycle passes me.

Lane splitting is illegal in Louisiana.

It is only legal in one state, that is California.
