How can ANY northern state be partriotic.
Honestly, how much time have you spent in the NE?
Take for instance Massachusets, if you spend any time there you will see lots of areas have a feel very similar to most of the country during the bicentennial.
I often get the impression here that many haven't spent much time outside of SEC country, while there is nothing wrong with that it leaves one pretty limited on information to judge other areas, it is like a Pittsburgh homer trying to describe Louisiana culture.

I thought Texas would be in there. People are proud to be from Texas.

Surprised Massachusetts isn't top 10. When I went to Boston, they were pretty patriotic.
This will change when belichick retires

No I have not. I've always wanted to live in the New England area. Seems like it would be like heaven.

Man there's alotta frickers around these parts who can't bear the thought of a blue state being more patriotic than a red state.
It's amsusing.

I have spent a good bit of time in Central Mass and people there and in the South both think I am crazy but they are a lot alike. There are all these small towns with town squares and everybody knows everybody and there are lots of "baws" there too. In the winter they love to ride their skis (snowmobiles) on the frozen rivers and go from bar to bar no unlike riding in a boat from Freds to the Blind River Bar (RIP) to The Propstop. They are just small-town folk with a funny accent and really good schools.
Take some time to go up there along with NH, MA and VT as well, go in the fall and soak in the colors.

how many times are you going to reply with noncommittal deflections claiming politics isn’t the reason before you actually give your rationale for thinking the states that you haven’t visited aren’t patriotic?

Well, the metrics are a bit narrow.
Most of these lists are nothing more than clickbait
quote:
The metrics included veterans per 1,000 civilian adults, active-duty military personnel per 100,000 civilian adults, share of adults who voted in 2016 presidential election and volunteer hours per resident.

I’m always amazed at when I go visit my wife’s family in CT, it is very pretty country and there are more American flags flying from homes than I’ve ever seen in the south. Very patriotic up there. Hell, their football team is called the Patriots and they worship them.

The report also found that states that voted Republican in the 2016 presidential election are more patriotic than states that voted Democrat.

The number one state voted Hillary.

The New England states provide aid to Great Britain during the War of 1812.

Ah that explains why the states with the highest percentage of white people are at the top

The bottom three are no shocker.
One hates anything American, the other two just hate everyone.

Southern States weren’t on the list because they’re all still obsessed with the civil war
