Does he own the practice? Pretty sure you have to fire the doctor by taking your money elsewhere.

If you want to understand why the medical profession is a shitshow look no further than Big Pharma and insurance companies. That’s who writes the checks for medical professionals. While not all bad, it’s largely one big corporate scam.

Frankly, neither should be fired, but both are in the wrong. The goal should be take care of patients.

She will definitely make a killing off of this. She is also taking on significant risk. With significant adverse outcomes or complications, she will have a large burden of proof to prove.

Again, the entire thing is too political in both ways. We have physicians that are blinded by an erroneous fascination with the vaccine, and patients that have suddenly become epidemiologists with no medical training.

Trust your doctor, if you don't, find a new one. A true doctor will not agree with you. They will look out for your well being. At times, that will mean they don't give you what you think you need. At other times, they will recommend something different. At the end of the day, you should be seeing someone you are comfortable with and accept the repercussions and benefits of that relationship.

Can you tell me how we are living longer than ever as a civilisation, and we have the most advanced medical care in history, but it is a shite show? Of course insurance writes the checks for medical professionals, it is literally how the system works. If you don't like it, find a self pay system.

While we all get mad at each other, the coronavirus is going to do what coronaviruses do… fade away more and more with each variant.

We will be left here in the end, still mad at each other about something or other.

By what criteria should the average person "trust" their doctor? A doctor can do all of the things you mentioned and be wrong. Bad doctors are protected in this country and a typical patient has no idea if they are seeing the best or worst of them because they are not equipped to make that determination.

Between the doctor and that nurse. I'd like them establish something medical on me.

It should be based on experience and relationship. Obviously, if that is not established, it's a much harder thing to do. You say your average patient is not equipped to assess that (I don't disagree), but they are also not equipped to decide their own treatment based on politically (both sides) driven hit pieces.

I base my doctors and dentist off the staff hotness, I may have to give this woman’s clinic a try if I get Covid. In fact, I definitely will and will report back.

You won’t get an honest, well established response. You’ll sure as hell not get an unpolitical one.

At best, maybe a few more snarky remarks with no basis that warrants any productive conversation.

Welcome to American political gridlock on a TD.com scale. And this is a medical discussion lol.

And she now gets to keep every cent by owning her own practice and the main risk (not having the patient base) is completely gone. Easy billing, easy money.

I think you'd have to be functionally retarded to look at her situation vs. the doctor who simply takes marching orders from centralized medical boards, and conclude that it's her that is in it for the easy money.

You are a dumbass.

She is now in concierge medicine. She likely has reduced her paperwork, clerical staff, and headache by a significant amount. Good for her, but this unlikely to lose her money.

In terms of following board recommendation, that is generally called standard of care. It is literally the foundation of medical care throughout history. It should be followed. Your overall care (htn, cancer treatment, ED, dyslipidemia) is substantially better thanks to standard of care.

Go take a look at all the opiate epidemic info that's out there and you'll have your answer. Pill farming wasn't done for free by these doctors. They were getting kickbacks/incentives. In fact it's pretty well established that those same incentives/kickbacks are happening with positive COVID results, hospitalizations and vaccines given. It's all about money/power/population control. All of it. COVID and opiates. Fentanyl didn't just all of a sudden make a grand appearance all across the country. It got the same push cocaine did in the 80s, our government.
