I allowed Cupid Shuffle because it was new at the time
this would be on my Do Not Play list ever since a friend started singing it as "down down doodoo brown doodoo brown"

When it comes to North La weddings Ole Garth is right up there with the best of them.
The Dance
Unanswered Prayers
Two of Kind (working on a full house)
If tomorrow never comes
Callin Baton Rouge (but this questionable in North La)

That's played at every wedding I've been to and that's across Texas, Georgia and North Carolina
The other ones are more Louisiana specific

The last LA wedding I went to Neck was played. I think some of the older ladies from my buddy's family (not from LA) thought the devil had arrived when women and men alike were screaming at the proper place.

Wedding DJ has got to be the easiest job on the planet

quote:that's funny. I don't live in La any longer but that song was the only one in this thread that was played at the last wedding reception I attended (in bama). wasn't 34 mins but probably 10. Wilson Pickett is from here though.
No list is complete without the 34 minute Mustang Sally.

No New Orleans Ladies? List is shite.
That’s the first one that comes to mind. Also at least one line dance song.

Growing up, our very Catholic family always had "Strokin" play at receptions for aunts, uncles, and cousins
I never actually listened to the words til I got older
I'm pretty sure my grandmother didnt either or she might not have approved.
