Most challenging skill: parallel parking, stick or driving backwards with a trailer?

I vote for operating a trailer. Its something done infrequently enough that its a difficult skill to master.

Trailer by far and mainly from inexperience. Other two are quite easy with a little practice.

I see a lot of terrible trailer drivers out there.

Trailer
I don’t understand why parallel parking is tough for so many folks

Hardest of the 3 to learn, but if you do it enough it actually becomes the easiest of the 3

Almost no one can drive a stick well. That, almost every vehicle has a different clutch activation action. When I had a Tacoma stick and a BMW stick they were so different it was bizarre going between the two.

I can parallel park.

Which means it's definitely not the most challenging of the three.

I have driven backwards with a trailer before for a very short distance. It wasn't great, but it got the job done.

I've never driven a stick.

Not sure I agree with this. Driving stick is literally mindless once you figure it out. The other two will always require thought because every attempt has unique variables.

Parallel parking isn't at all difficult.

Driving a stick isn't all that difficult either, especially if you learned on one.

Backing up a trailer is something that I have done very infrequently, so that would get my vote, but it's still not exceptionally difficult.

Parallel parking for me.

I can drive a stick and back a trailer like butter, but don’t get much practice parallel parking.

Trailer

Those small ones can be the hardest depending on wheel base

If you lived in big cities you would learn how to parallel park real quick
Driving stick is the easiest to learn

As you say, it all comes with experience. Moving a trailer is so big, it’s harder to correct. But all 3 can make someone look foolish if they’ve never done it before.

For me, it's parallel parking.

My first vehicle was a 83 Toyota truck with a 4 speed stick. I pulled a boat with it almost every weekend. So the stick and pulling/backing a trailer are second nature to me.

But growing up in Central, when did I ever have to parallel park? Never.

Backup cameras do make it a lot easier to parallel park though. But screw a camera when trying to back in a trailer. My brain just won't adapt, looking over my shoulder is money though.
