Officials have confirmed the Morganza Spillway may be opened for the third time in its history as early as June 2 due to high water on the Mississippi River.
2. It’s the politicians calling the shots in the end bud

Atchafalaya already flooding as well. Water from the Morganza will only compound this issue. Morgan City in trouble

Yeah I’m not sure where they plan on putting all this extra water. Damn barge should have been in place months ago.

My daughter lives at the foot of the spillway. It's not to far from the top of the level.
300k+ a chance to flood or 5 million+ a chance to flood. A no brainer there.

I know that one camp off I10 between Ramah and Whiskey Bay got destroyed last time this happened. Feel sorry for that old boy. He was trying to get his shite back together.

I have family in stephensville, how fricked are they?

I know people in stephensville who have water in their house right now.

The high south winds and high tides are making it worse.
Posted on 5/22/19 at 9:13 pm to CoachChappy
It should have been opened already.

It’s been flooding over there

Surprised they're opening Morganza. Natchez prediction is still like 6 feet below 2011 levels last I saw.

Yeah it’s close. They’ve managed to do enough pumping and such to keep it out for now. Not really sure how much more they can take

In laws live on Doirons canal. Been halfway up the back yard for a while now. Only about 9-12" elevation wise from getting in the house. Had to create a sandbag levee in 2011 and keep it pumped out to keep water from getting in house.

They must be nervous about pressure on ORCS

Can someone explain the sinking of a barge to me? How does that work to prevent an area from flooding?
Thanks,
Thanks,
