Alumni association pulls donations and events

quote:

Still, the players' actions aren’t sitting well with the Bonnabel Alumni Association, which said it has decided to cancel a week of activities, including a breakfast and social, surrounding a big upcoming game between East Jefferson and Bonnabel. And at least one company that contributes to the week’s activities has withdrawn its donations.

Kneeling actually looks respectful...don't tell them that.

their uniforms are better than the Saints. Those are badass - look like the retro Georgia Tech ones.

I was at Middle School Football game yesterday. 2 young 13-15 year old girls were sitting when the national anthem started playing. A black lady slapped one on her shoulder and told them to both stand up, they did. I was impressed.

Somehow everyone is missing the fact that kneeling is and always has been a sign of respect and subservience to a higher authority. Bunch of kneeling Catholics know this. Prostrating yourself is the next stage of this. Sitting and/or turning your back is a different matter.

The saddest part about this is that if you asked them why they are kneeling the responses would go no deeper than "umm police brutality and Kapernick." They likely have no idea what they are doing but just know that its what the other football players are doing.

Always some asshat. Let's pretend that doing anything other than standing facing the flag at attention could also be respectful. This isn't Mass and even if it was if you kneeled while everyone stood at attention it would raise eyebrows as well. They are kneeling to draw attention to themselves and now they are getting it.

I coach youth football. During practice the other day, during our scrimmage, one of our coaches told all the subs on the sidelin to stand up. Little kid said "we don't have to stand up, we can kneel like kaepernick". So sad.

BLM and supporters are dense if they believe they are going to generate further support for their cause by kneeling and showing disrespect during our country's national anthem.

it's as simple as that.

It makes me think even less of the situation, and i am very sympathetic to protestors of anything.

It is idiotic and misinformed, and does nothing but divide people further.
