I imagine you burn a hell of a lot of calories flying a whirley bird. Have to watch you every move nearly all the time and still can't see everything.

They showed the chopper coming down, but stopped the tape before the crash, rendering their story worthless.

There was no plot. It was a simple news story.

If you have ever seen a helicopter, you would know they have a thin metal skin around them that is not see-through. We would not have seen the pilot die. I am also an adult and do not need a fake news, disinformation jockey deciding what I m too sensitive to see. Apparently, you are quite sensitive, Nancy.

Also, thanks for fixing your spelling. I was wondering why you thought there was a plot to this crash.

Saw the entire thing. You never actually see the pilot. It just erupts in flames upon impact.

Main rotor looks cleanly separated by impact forces with the power line, another 50 feet higher or lower and he clears it.

By all accounts a by-the-book competent pilot flying IFR weather using VFR procedures where he needed to follow the Spillway to know his location. It's an old, common and too often tragic story in aviation accidents.

RIP to the pilot who made the one simple, fatal mistake he probably never contemplated doing.

He must have been flying awfully low to hit those transmission lines. They’re high, but not THAT high. Was that one that was replaced after Ida?

Would the pilot have survived if the chopper had crashed into the water?

Honest question. Would he have had a better chance at survival had he hit the water? or would the impact still have killed him?

Not very likely.

I'd wager unsurvivable. That water there is very shallow. Even if it were deep, that's a hard impact on water.
