When I was in school, the black kids used to tell use black jokes "how do you stop a black kid from jumping on the bed? Put velcro on the ceiling". And we all would laugh our asses off then some white kid would come to school "my brother told me this joke" and it would be some joke about a black person and everyone would laugh.. We told jokes about white people, but the jokes that were the most popular were jokes about Chinese people "how do chinese people name their kids? They throw a fork in a pot and whatever sounds it makes is what they name it.. Ching, bing dong"..

And if someone got called a name.. nword, honky, etc you told the teacher and she told that person to not say it again.. and that was that. Sometimes there was a fight and then you couldn't play for the rest of recess. It blows my mind how a big deal is made out of bullshite.

Not sure why it’s newsworthy, but the bullies need to be dealt with. Just handle and be done.

This mom must have missed the 80s and 90s.....a time when students would talk loads of shite to each other and sometimes get in fights.

I don't remember anybody's parents suing a school board.

You apparently missed that it being black-on-black wasn't the headline, wasn't even mentioned until the end as if it were an unimportant footnote. Instead, it left the race of the bully(ies) up to interpretation and we all know what the popular interpretation is:

Is there room in the vicitimization/race-baiters handbook for members of a race be considered to be racist against members of their own race?

This is more far fetched than the Smolleting. The only way this happened is if her son is going to school in an all Black school or on an Indian reservation. The Indians hate everyone, even other Indians sub groups in their own tribe and they don't care one iota about federal laws, much less anti-discrimination laws.

It's not even mentioned in the footnote. The AP says ONE of the bullies is black (a direct quote). Still, none of that matters. The AP admitted the bullying is happening. Worthy of suit, I think no, but he still admitted that the allegations are true.

Are you arguing that the author should have race baited in the headline?

Jessica Orta retained the law firm Clark Hill PLC to represent her in a suit that centers around her son’s experience at O.K. Adcock Elementary School.

At least they're upfront about the quality of the education at the school.

The first question should be: "What are the damages"? Monetary? nope. Physical? nope. Emotional? Maybe. If so, guilty as charged and a sincere sounding apology is required.

According to the complaint filed on Sept. 22, Orta’s son was called the N word several times and speaking to teachers and staffers about it only escalated her son’s abuse.

Orta detailed the phrases in the lawsuit her son was called: “Your skin is burnt by the sun;” “You’re too black;” “You eat 15 buckets of fried chicken every day;” “You shower in Kool-Aid;” and “You’re a watermelon muncher.”

“The harassment continued in the ’24-’25 school year. Another boy from the same friend group escalated the abuse starting the year by barring my son from entering the school, saying that he was, quote, ‘too black to come inside,'” Orta said.

Orta said Assistant Principal Matt Landahl pushed back on the allegations of racial abuse and said of one of the students bullying her son, “[he] is black too.”

Oh wow. Could this finally be the case that helps everyone realize that the "n word" can't be okay for only a specific segment of the population to use?

Yes. They do with every other headline. Goose, gander.

I'm honestly surprised they admitted that.

I can tell you one thing... "racism" is associated almost entirely with whites. In this story I am sure NONE of the bullies were white.

You know how I know? Because THAT would have been the headline.

Colorism is real and far more prevalent than white on black racism- it just doesn't make headlines.
