Have you tried Keto IV drops? You’re supposed to put a dropper full into a bottle of water and drink that but that takes too long. I just put a dropper full straight in my mouth and drink it straight. Tastes like swallowing sea water but gets the job done fast with no cramping. I don’t like flavored water when I’m playing in the heat bc it upsets my stomach.

That's not that fast

Probably. She would’ve died of Covid if she wasn’t

I would never take that chance, I’ll stick to the tried and true beer, wine, or gin and tonic to hydrate

Last month I struggled to consume 1/2 gallon of colonoscopy prep solution in an hour. But it was the doctors orders, also has do drink 36 ounces of water that morning before noon.

I have to do that this weekend

I guy died at Air Force basic training back in 2001 from drinking too much water. It happens, but 64oz seems way to small of an amount to do it.

ETA: It was 1999. Las Vegas Sun

quote:

The 1999 death involved a 19-year-old Air Force recruit who collapsed during a 5.8-mile walk at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. His body temperature had climbed to 108 degrees and his sodium levels were low from overhydration.

quote:

In October 2000 the branches of the military issued new water consumption guidelines for training in hot environments, warning: "ingestion of large amounts of water -- greater than 1 1/2 quarts per hour -- may lead to hyponatremia, which is a life-threatening condition."

No I haven't.

A fellow official in my association does the Gatorade chews prior to his games.

My only guess is for that small of an amount of water to poison her she'd of had to have been dehydrated as hell. Like major dehydrated.

This is why you replenish electrolytes first after you are done sweating then drink water.

I just mowed the grass and had 3 in 15 minutes. Still feel like I could down another 3 but opting for cold beer.

Exactly. That’s what her body was craving and not getting from the water.

Probably just the perfect storm of things gone wrong in her body, freak accident type event. RIP

Right or wrong, when I cut the grass now I drink a Pedialyte. The last two summers doing this, I feel great after 2 hours of yard work.

“Someone said she drank four bottles of water in 20 minutes,” her brother Devon Miller told WRTV. “I mean, an average water bottle is like 16 ounces, so that was 64 ounces that she drank in a span of 20 minutes. That’s half a gallon. That’s what you’re supposed to drink in a whole day.”

On the last day of the family’s trip, the mom began feeling like she couldn’t drink enough water.

Summers complained about feeling lightheaded and having a stubborn headache, her family said.

I think people are focusing on first paragraph above too much. Seems like she was drinking a lot of water before and not just in that 20 minutes. The extreme thirst was a symptom of problem already existing (I think an old Michael Crichton book taught me that a long time ago).

Being on lake for weekend may have pushed her being on low end with sodium already before that day, but outside of maybe having had something below I wonder if she also wasn’t eating especially on that last day.

Anything that is straight electrolytes will suffice.

Only thing w/Pedialyte is it's fricking expensive. Electrolit can be found at any QT/Racetrac for a 1/3 of the price and works just as well.

Bull...shite...

At her weight, 64oz of water in 20 minutes is nothing.

Maybe at 640oz.

Very reasonable question.

Sounds like hydrocephalus, completely unrelated to her water consumption. They could have drilled into the skull to relieve the pressure or done a spinal tap to drain some CSF.
