Y'all sure are quick to condemn her without knowing the whole story.

There has to be way more to the story.

Wut? I guess the statute of limitations has expired because her arse should be in jail.

There’s plenty of ways to get out of bad situations that don’t involve going poof on everyone you know for 20+ years and wasting untold resources because you chose to pull such a stunt.

She should go to her kids with a Britney Spears CD and some Beanie Babies gift wrapped and say "hey kids, I'm finally back from shopping. You wouldn't believe how bad the traffic was"

Amanda was 14 years old when her mother disappeared. Her younger brother was almost 8. Their older sister was 19 and already out of the house.

Amanda said her mother was always there when they got off the bus from school, cooked their favorite meals, and, while she wasn’t very strict, never let them get away with everything.

At her request, her current whereabouts will remain undisclosed.

Officials said Smith’s family was notified that she had been located and were informed about her request to keep her whereabouts undisclosed.

Unless this is out of a spy thriller where she had to abandon her life to protect her family, what a ghoul she is

There is generally no statute of limitations for neglecting child support.

This POS should be tarred and feathered.

As a parent, I've had hard days, but I couldn't imagine just up and leaving my son and never returning

Look if she wanted to leave. Fine. I won't condemn her for that.

But there is a right way and a wrong way to do things.

Just bouncing was not the right way.

Her response of “don’t tell my children where I am” is all I need to know about this POS.

Why does she get a pass?

Maybe she has severe mental problems and at the time felt their life would be better without her? She did it to save them from her.......

The only thing that would excuse this would be if the husband was beating her, and even then to leave the kids with him would be inexcusable without at least contacting police or something to get them out of that house. Not to mention there is nothing in this story that suggests that is what was going on. And if it was what was going on she would still owe the kids an explanation.

Life can be hard, but inflicting such harm on your children is on a whole different level.
The kids should file a suit against her and use a court order to discover where she is so they can serve the suit on her for doing this horrible thing.
No opinion on the spouse, as we know nothing about him or the relationship, but her children surely suffered because of her actions.
Let the lawyers roast her.

If I were her family and she made me live in agony the last 24 years knowing God knows what was happening to her, then her being found and not wanting to be found. I'd hire a private investigator to find her, then I'd hire some hoodrats, pay them a few thousands to kick her arse, but not kill her.

Her wages should be garnished and her assets sold to pay for raising those kids

This, 100%.

If her husband had done this he'd be thrown under the jail and charged backpay on child support and (likely) alimony.

without a doubt, and the arrears owed would be at a loan shark type interest rate
