Researchers say it is “not yet established” whether the antibodies translate to protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection, but the results do imply that the vaccine has the potential to offer “durable immunity” against disease.

“Our findings provide support for the use of a 100-µg dose of mRNA-1273 in an ongoing phase 3 trial, which has recently shown a 94.5% efficacy rate in an interim analysis,” researchers concluded.

What’s the point?

I don't think that's quite true. A month or so ago they were up to like 30 worldwide.

I've seen some of those 30. One of them was a guy in the Houston area (I think) who made big news across the country because they said he had contracted it 3 times. They never did really prove it, and we didn't hear anything of it after the week or so of media hand wringing and fear pimping.

And we also don’t know what other long term effects are caused by frickin around with mRNA. Sounds sketchy as hell

Yes there are hundreds now, which is like .0000001% reinfection rate and exceedingly rare.

Oh, I know. Wasn't using that as a thing to say "immunity is impossible!"

roduced high levels of binding and neutralizing antibodies that declined slightly over time, as expected, but they remained elevated in all participants 3 months after the booster [second] vaccination,” the doctors wrote.

They only have about 3 months worth of data, it doesn't mean it only lasts three months.

Until we can get 100% guarantee immunity last at least a year and 100% guarantee the vaccine is safe, we arent going back to normal

That is where the bar has been set

the test subjects are only at 3 months. we dont know a long term outcome because one hasnt been observed yet.

Exactly. I mean. FFS, it’s legitimate to wonder how long immunity will last, but they can’t claim immunity for longer than their test subjects have had the shot.

The title of the article is "Moderna coronavirus vaccine offers immunity for at least 3 months, researchers suggest". Not your title. Both are clickbait.

The fact that it's not an immediate cure-all will give every level of government the reason they need to extend these lockdowns indefinitely

you are being obtuse

the non negative way to present this would be to say

"3 months after receiving vaccination, recipients still have antibodies"
