The family is more than complicit. They blame the friends for allowing the young man to make his own decision.

Here's the quote from dad to CBS. There are more succinct ways to express that they believe society is responsible for them, not vice-versa, but not many:

quote:

"No, he wouldn't. Nolan always stays with the group," Elmore Wonsley, Nolan's father, told "CBS Mornings." "If you be with me, you come back with me. So that I don't understand, and with me being a parent, if I was in that situation, I would have told them, 'You're going to get back on this boat with me because I don't want to answer to your parents if something happens to you.'"

That is the only way to rationalize it being the friends' fault rather than just a sad situation. He was responsible for himself. He made a decision that wasn't bad in the moment, but led to a bad consequence.

But they were sophisticated enough to murder him in cold blood without any of the hundreds of other partygoers noticing a thing.
I don’t know which story is more unbelievable. This kid getting murdered in the middle of a beach party by his very good friends or Trump supporters assaulting a black man in Chicago at two in the morning on the coldest night of the year.

That quote from the dad is interesting because witnesses, including the girl Katie, told police that the boys were downright forceful in their pleas to get Nolan to leave with them, but he simply didn't want to leave.

all of these cases are the same. the race pimps get involved and we reach critical mass before anyone truly knows the truth. once they turn everything into a circus, the truth no longer matters, and the lie becomes reality for them.

Who is going to give the black community a Win finally??! They’re getting desperate for that racially-motivated white on black crime. They seem to prefer the narrative of a Deep South occurrence and committed by a heterosexual male Trump supporter. Too bad this $hit never happens. They’ll have to get a Win in some other fashion.

Why give the time of day to those who have the IQ of a dead bird.

Acknowledge these goobers exist and walk away...they won't get in your lane unless you allow it

After making this racial and blaming “Mississippi”, the community who has rallied around them should tell them to get fricked.

The mom seems somewhat rational & just wants answers. I don’t feel like she totally aligns with Crump’s narrative.

Mom thinks things were deleted from son's phone because of no Snapchats. Everything I have read stated there is no cell service on Horn Island.

If no cell service, why would mobile data and apps work?

It wasn’t a racial problem then here in Mississippi that he was invited and rode on a boat with all his white friends ..

It’s now only an issue and classic “Mississippi gonna Mississippi” now that the black kid is dead

This stuck in the past mindset is so sad

I read a fun new one this morning: All the white dudes were gay, which is obvious by the pics and the way they were holding and touching Nolan that day. Nolan wasn’t, because according to this theorist, “brothas don’t get down with that.” So they got jealous and killed him.

These people are certifiable.

If you ever get a single bar on that island, you're not getting it on the 4th

Most likely, Crump is either blatantly lying or wildly exaggerating in order to garner sympathy.

My take is that he has no clue how collegiate football works and is embellishing the story for dramatic effect. I’ve coached JUCO football in the past. Not much going on in July for anyone at any level. I bet the kid either:

A) Had an informal conditioning workout with his current JUCO

Or

B) Planned to attend a 1-day camp at a D2 or D1 school. A camp that is attended by hundreds of other random kids, most of which are still in HS

And a lesson should be learned after this event. Parents should advise their kids to only be friends with people that look like them. Sad that what the world is trying to overcome has become a stumbling stone.

So is the below is the only rationale for Crump and ilk stating explicitly that his friends deleted text messages?
quote:

Wells' mother, Christine, said her son's phone was with one of his friends who had returned from the island and they went and retrieved it. She believes Snapchat messages were deleted from the phone because there were no photos or videos on the account.

"I know when kids get together for events like that, they's Snapping," Christine Wonsley said. "They are making videos, taking pictures, and I'm just like, 'Where is it?' Because it hadn't been 24 hours when we started looking, which usually, with Snapchat, it goes away once you hit that 24-hour mark."

Is the below the only rationale for Crump and ilk stating there is definitely a video showing Wells in an argument?
quote:

Ledbetter previously told CBS News that investigators were hoping to identify the original poster of a video in which arguing can be heard in the background. Crump said independent investigators are looking into whether a voice heard on the video arguing with someone about taking his cellphone is the voice of Wells.

Being a good swimmer doesn’t mean much when caught in rip currents or other strong currents. That is even before intoxication in any amount is factored in
quote:

Crump said Wells was a good swimmer.

As usual black victimhood when a white person can be accused of something pays well:
quote:

Actor and director Tyler Perry has offered to pay for Wells' funeral, Crump said. The family also started a GoFundMe, which had raised over $380,000 as of midday Friday.
