That's what I clearly stated in my original post. Apparently some took that as me saying that I think they murdered him or something, even though I said the opposite.

I do recognize that I am the outlier here. But in real life with almost everyone I know and have relationships with. I am not the outlier. In fact I have seen plenty of other people online share my exact same sentiment.

i went back and read QJenk's posts on this thread, and to be fair, he has been very clear that he doesnt think there was any foul play and he hasnt said anything outright about race being a factor here. i think a lot of people, including myself, were/are assuming that there is a racial component being implied in his posts. maybe there is, but he hasnt said that outright, and we arent mind readers.

whatever. we are sentient human beings and can detect innuendo when we see it. 16 pages of questioning the integrity of the white friends isnt difficult to see through.
Its just sad that a generation of kids who really DGAF about race are going to get thrown into a meat grinder because their parents' generation cant stop obsessing about racial victimhood.

There is an extenuating circumstance in this case that is quite unique.
The boat they arrived in had a leak and they were 6 miles from the mainland.
Under normal circumstances, maybe they would have stuck around longer to make sure he was in good hands, but they did not have the luxury of time.
It was like, leave now or you're on your own. He decided to not leave.
For the record, when I was in high school and college, I was always "that guy" that "mother henned" my friends. I never wanted to leave anyone behind unless they got belligerent about it. Some did. And they usually paid a price like getting arrested, losing their wallet, etc.

If this is what happened, I do agree that is very different and I would say they acted very reasonable.
