There is a lesson to be learned by all; those who die in excruciating fashion, those who die quickly, and those who outlive most and experience the death of others. There are far too many delicacies to human existence to chalk up bad things happening to a God that doesn't care.
He does. He wants us to be there with him after our days in this brief life are done.
Man's nature, since Adam and Eve ate of the tree of life, has been to sin. That is where the root of evil came from.
As men grew more numerous, their sin did as well, and as sin spreads, so does evil. Granted, it isn't a directly proportional spread, and evil doesn't travel with only those that sin. That isn't how it works.
Evil is spread indiscriminately over man as a whole. Evil does not come from God; things such as cancer, etc. Evil is a challenge that all mankind faces, and mankind is not always capable of overcoming it.
That is where God comes in. This life is but a short prelude to what awaits us in heaven, should we live our lives doing good things, leading others to the faith in Him, and maintaining our faith in Him. Although these children dying of cancer may have suffered in this life, they will have nothing but joy and jubilation for eternity. Once you hit heaven, nothing else matters. He is there with you, and you spend your days in happiness and fellowship.
Inb4 "How do you know, have you been there?" The answer: the bible describes heaven very clearly.

ok so God only gets the credit for the good things?
Man does what man does, good or bad. It's not complicated.

say a parent that stands by idly watching his child walk into a fire definitely does not love said child. Only a total psychopath would just stand there contemplating the philosophical intricacies that a rescue action would have on the child's free will.
Explain to me how that works that you have total control over your life until you make a bad decision, then an invisible hands descends.

That's how you know? I mean, have you actually read the bible? Or are you a Christian that cherry-picks what you think should be followed?

But will you expound on why God has not answered thousands of other prayers by parents of dying children? Because "original sin" isn't a viable answer
How do you even believe that you could even comprehend the complexity of the answer to this question?

That's awesome!
I know a guy about 8 years ago was in north Baton Rouge buying drugs and was robbed and shot in the neck. He crawled onto someone's porch and they called 911. He almost lost enough blood for him to die but ems and doctors saved him. Really was a miracle. Last I heard of him is he is a deadbeat dad and is now smoking crack.

What if they'd all just fled? No injuries anywhere, who gives a shite about a theft?

[quote]Read the Old Testament. Then you'll be asking just where all this assumption of a "loving, Heavenly Father" comes from. You'll be told it comes from the New Testament, which then means this all-powerful, eternal creator of the universe...had a personality change. He softened in his old age. Which means he'd probably disagree with some of the things he did in the Old Testament...all very curious things from an eternal omniscient deity.

Ironic discussing the Old Testament in the OT but it is probably explains which God is listening to the prayers of the Rant praying for an offense

Since God was there before everything else, sin must have come from him, right? If you say no, then where did it come from?
And that is awesome that the kid is doing well. That is a very traumatic thing to go through.

That's part of having faith, man. Not cherry-picking, but believing in things as describe from the visions of prophetical figures and Jesus Himself. And yes, I have read it.
And to the person asking if sin came from God since he was here from the beginning, no. Sin came from Lucifer. Sin was expounded by him as well in the form of temptation and deceit, Sin is different from evil. When we sin, our lives are opened up to evil. Evil can lead to affliction and death.
With that said, we all will face sin and evil. Whether or not we recognize it, we face it. Being a Christian isn't about being perfect and never sinning, so when people call us hypocritical because we commit one sin that they saw, they couldn't be more wrong.
God knows we are never going to be perfect, and he loves us through it and forgives us for our transgressions anyway. We are imperfect, and as long as we don't turn our backs on him and just commit sin after sin without even thinking about Him, we still are very much within our bounds as Christians. Everyone makes mistakes. Yes, we are expected to minimize sinful behavior, but we aren't required to be perfect. I feel like the crowd that labels us hypocritical really misunderstands that sometimes.

And here's the KICKER as far as adults go under Final Cut's God: they have no compelling reason to think the fire even exists in the first place. They can neither see it nor rationally conclude it; there is no evidence for it except other humans professing it. "Free will" under Final Cut's God means even being punished by fire for honest mistakes.
What a giant conceit that is, really... that because we don't think like he does we deserve fire. What a contradiction, anyway, because while on the one hand he says God wouldn't interfere to save you from fire (in deference to your "free will") he steps in to save the life of a boy in the hospital. What exactly is the "miracle" here? That the boy was cured, or that God broke his customary rule of non-interference?

So I take it you follow everything in the bible? You know, not cherry-picking.

Anyone that has read the bible and takes it in its entirety as truth is a lunatic.

That's exactly what I was getting at with the puppeteer posts earlier. Bad things happen? Free will--God isn't going to save you. Good things happen? Praise God for intervening!
Thus, I conclude God must literally sit there and pick and choose who gets cured and who dies. Sometimes he saves the crackhead and not the child. Sometimes he picks Alabama to win, and a lets another child die. If it doesn't make sense, well then you just don't understand God. Bc dammit, sometimes a 4 year old just has to die slowly.

Yes, but this isn't a miracle. This sort of thing happens more often than you think. It's great news, but not a miracle.
But I agree. These "miracles" happen to shitty people too, and they heal and remain shitty, so it's just a medical thing, nothing more to that side of it.

None of it is coherent.
Didn't this young boy deserve heaven? So why should we rejoice when God steps in to keep him living on Earth with all its traps and pitfalls?
