Where the hell were their boomer parents to provide advice on such a thing?

They probably did give the advice but the generation of "experiences and feelings" probably buttchugged the advice along with a fifth of tequila by the end of their freshman year.

Why is UC Berkley offering classes in "Adulting"?

Classes for incomplete young adults.

I am not talking about individual boomers though, I am talking about companies run by boomers keeping more profits than they have in the past, creating a wealth gap.

So it's not boomers at all, it's CEOs and business owners?
So why say boomers?
Is it just boomer CEOs and owners? GenX and millennial business owners don't do these 'hoarding' practices (aka maximizing investments)?

quote:
FTR I love boomers, sorry if I have given the wrong impression. They just kind of fricked up the economy for the younger generations and its fun to come on this board and talk about it.

Aside from all the shitty laws and regulations the boomers passed, they haven't 'fricked up' anything for you with their financial decisions. You say you don't expect anything from boomers, but you keep using the word 'hoarding' and you keep implying that younger generations have some sort of claim to this money. They don't. The 'wealth gap' is not the responsibility of boomers. It's your problem.

FTR I don't care if you love boomers or not, I'm not a boomer, I'm a millennial. I'm just tired of seeing millennials blame boomers because they didn't get enough. I'm not saying the economy isn't shittier for millennials because it is, but you will never get what you want by demanding boomers share what they earned when you didn't earn it from them

No kidding.

The flower children calling other generations the “generation of experiences and feelings” is hilarious.

So are those born in the last 25 years or so. Just as, if not more, worthless.

If you can’t wrap your head around that, there is zero hope to have a real discussion

If you think the job market is shite you’re either not looking or you’re one of those idiots who think you you should start making the salary of someone with 20 years experience. Companies are literally begging for people. There are more job openings in America right now than there are people looking for work.

And with the massive demand for workers, wages are rising as well...

If you can’t get a good job right now it’s nobody’s fault but your own. Maybe stop wasting your time on a pity party and whining about how “hard” it is for your generation. Nobody owes you shite. The sooner you figure that out and start getting on with your life, the better your life will be. Grow up and own your shite.

You can’t read, can you?

Everyone is referencing the job market when millennials were entering it, back in the 2004-2015 period, you know, immediately after the economy crashed.

Millennials aren’t entering the current job market.

They are currently playing catch-up.

It’s not about getting a good job right now. It was about getting a good job 10 years ago.

That market set millennials back in the pay scale, and it will take some time to recover.

So until they “recover” the rest of us have to endure their unrelenting whining about it?

Your pay is still likely related to your previous salary.

Employers know what millennials make by industry and function. They know what the have to offer to get them to switch employers and don’t offer more than that.

Oh, so the paper they have as opposed to what they know.

What if the "education" they receive is way shittier than it used to be?

I think what I love most about these threads is that Millenials and Boomers are exactly the same whiny self-centered pricks, just a few decades apart in age.

You keep saying you're not asking for this or that while at the same time saying they're hoarding money, implying they shouldn't keep the money they have.

But you won't say how they should get rid of it so it can get into your hands. Would you care to elaborate on that or will you just run in the same circle again?

How should that money end up in your account instead of theirs, and explain why that would be beneficial for both you and them (as it obviously should be a voluntary transaction)?
