This was told to me by someone in HR for a fairly large company. Do you find this to be true or false?

I'm a millennial (unfortunately... by 2 years) and this couldn't be more false.

I find that to be true for lots of lazy people, not just millennials.

True for some. Not true for others.

True. I know quite a few that take unpaid time off

Also, have talked to several who take much less salary for more vacation.

Millennial checking in. Could not be further from the truth. Hookers and blow aren't cheap.

That's weird, because their whole life is a vacation.

Rooftop parties with Red's Apple Ale under Christmas lights in July, every day after work, with an ethnically diverse crowd of friends, living the good life.

In my case, sorta. I could us 5 more days off over a 3% raise.

Weddings occupy 80% of my PTO

I'd take a pay cut if it meant I could have Fridays off.

There are so many different start dates for each generation, it's crazy. Some for Gen Y/Millennials go as far back as like '76 or so.

I'm 40 years old now and I've been working since I was 15 years old. At this point in my life, I would gladly accept more vacation time versus an increase in my salary. I'm tired of working. Every single day it's the same damn routine.

Most Millennials I know want more vacation time AND more money.

I'm a millennial and salary is by far the biggest factor for me. I can vacation once I'm making a comfortable living

I'm motivated by a good combination of each. Too much vacation time and you can't take it. There's a nice balance of salary/vacation that has to be struck.

I think to say "vacation time" is missing the mark. I'd guess what they really mean is "time expected on the job."

For example, I don't necessarily care that much about actual vacation days (15/year seems a pretty fair and standard amount).

However, I'd MUCH rather work a true 40 hour week making $60K than work 60+ hour weeks making $100K.
