If these places would focus on food quality and service instead of profit margin they would be better off. They can point all they want but its their own fault.

Chain restaurants are going away. The weak will get culled while the strong adapt. Such is the way of business

It's the trend to eat local and forgo chains that is hurting them

I finally agree with Millennials on something. Chain restaurants are mostly garbage

My family will hit local chains like Zea's but that's about it.... Most national chains do suck... Even Outback, which was really good in the early 2000s when everything was made fresh, really sucks now...

Also, I've never stepped foot in a Red Lobster. It still amazes me one still exist in Metairie..

Millennials would rather eat at chipotle or Panera than red lobsta or bww. It's better food at a lower price.

This. Fast casual is a way more attractive option.

Additionally, millennials seem to be attracted to local restaurants when wanting that traditional dining experience.

No 2 chains have more "millennials" than Chipotle or Panda Express as far as I can tell.

I got to Applebee's whenever I want to feel like I'm in 1998.

It points to ordering take out, which is odd that they think families would rather sit at a sticky table waiting on a waitress to get your drink refilled and if you have kids that situation becomes 3x more horrendous.

My family used to go to Outback every single saturday when I was a kid, about 20 years ago. It was very good food for the price back then.

The worst meal I've ever had was at the Outback on college drive about 6 months ago. It was almost incomprehensible how much that place had fallen.

One of the functions these casual places like Picadilly, IHOP etc perform is to help socialize kids into proper public behavior. A generation of kids who've never eaten anywhere more formal than McD's will grow up into a generation of crude boors.

Last two times I dined at Buffalo Wild wings the service was terrible and the food was mediocre for the price. Not sure millennials are to blame here.

At the same time, some chains with great customer service are doing just fine.

Two of the worst meals I've ever had were at Middendorf's when I was a kid in the '80s and Monjunis about 10 years ago. I ordered lasagna to go from the latter and when I got to the office to check it it was still partly frozen.

Yeah, I specifically remember that Red Lobster and being totally stunned that it was there, and I didn't grow up anywhere near the place.
