Mine made me always come close to puking and I'd get a couple a month.
Puking makes mine go away almost instantly. I've got to the point now when I get one occasionally I'll try to make myself vomit and it cures it.

My wife had botox injections for them a few months ago. So far so good.

100% Oxygen for about 5-15 minutes, if you have access

I was getting then about once or twice a month. I would end up puking at some point and sometimes that would help. Best thing I figured out popping 800mg of ibuprofen, taking a hot shower and then laying down in a dark room would knock it out most of the time but usually not until after the puking.
So have fun because it sucks.

I have cluster headaches, related to migraines. Docs put me on Verapamil to help prevent and Relapax to take at onset. Verapamil does help on frequency and intensity but doesn't totally prevent. Relpax is strong stuff but will normally knock a headache out.
Docs need to monitor blood work on both these tho

I got one last night. Started above my eye. Laid down for an hour and woke up with a Headband of Pain. (Sounds like a Bruce Lee flick)
Was agonizing

I started getting them when I was a kid, say 12-13.
They've gotten less intense with time, or I've gotten more tolerant to them, but they're still not pleasant in the least. I always wake up with mine (I can't remember the last one I had that developed after being awake for at least two hours) and they're usually gone after a few hours.
I see color distortion and am affected by slight blurriness but the hallmark of getting a migraine (aside from the obvious pain) that lets me know it's not just a regular sinus headache or hangover is if there's a weird plastic-y smell. That's always the dead giveaway.
It's a common occurrence for me. Maybe once every week to two weeks, maybe somewhat more frequent than that.

I have terrible migraines that have become more frequent in the past year. Someone suggested that I take magnesium supplements. I'll try anything at this point. So, I started them about a month ago, and I haven't had one aince. Could be a coincidence, but I'm hopeful.

How do some of y'all handle this and work? Only head ache I ever had was alcohol induced. But that usually goes away.

I've had migraines and clusters for 38 yrs.. I take amlodipine(Norvasc) daily and it really helps cut down the frequency and intensity of the headaches. I take Imitrex when i get one 3-4 times a week. The triptans- Imitrex, Zomig, Maxalt, Aemerge, etc. are a divine gift from God.

Wife has them regulaey for 20 years. In addition to pounding as much water as she can tolerate, she takes a prescription cocktail of hydrocodone and Benadryl. Also, takes a daily dose of nortryptoline as a preventative.

Sounds like cluster headaches more than migraines. There is a reason they are called suicide headaches.
Go to the doc and get some imitrex or whatever he suggests to have available when they happen.

I used to get 1 a month. Take a beta blocker now, no headaches.

The cluster variety is nasty. Doc also said quit/minimize caffeine and chocolate and take Vitamin D supplements.

I used to get them really bad, throwing up, literally almost pass out from the pain when I stood up. It was similar to spinal headaches. Imitrex and other medicines did not work. I would have to go to the ER, unless my local doc was available and get a demerol shot. I'd wake up 8 hours later feeling hungover but no headache. They came to the conclusion it was stress related. I very rarely get them any longer, thank God!

prayers sent.
I know this doesn't help you now, but when I committed to staying hydrated and drinking about a gallon of water daily my migraines have dropped to one in 10 months, and mild headaches have disappeared.
Look into some deep breathing methods, more oxygen never hurt anybody.

Great feedback. Thanks. I'll try and figure something out.
