I use to get them bad as a kid from about 10-15. Important thing is to figure out what your trigger is and stay away from it. Mine was mold/mildew (which apparently was in some of my class rooms). Fortunately, I could sleep off my migraines. But, I know this isn't the case for a lot of people. I would go to the Dr. they can do some allergy skin tests that may figure your trigger out.

They suck though.

Only head ache I ever had was alcohol induced. But that usually goes away.
if I catch it in time, I can usually pop enough Tylenol to get me through the day. But if not, I just have to leave. My employer knows of my condition and can tell when I have one, so it's usually not an issue. Plus I'm always ahead of my work anyway

I know you are either lying or severely exaggerating here. I have had migraines and I can promise you you wouldn't be posting on the Internet or even be near light at all if it was a real migraine as you described. Sounds like you drank too much and are being a puss.

Suffered with these for several years. My headaches are preceded by flashes of light or blurred vision. About the only thing that helps is laying down in a dark quiet room, which eases the blurred vision but then the pain sets in. Migraines suck!

Preventative therapy-avoid trigger foods, stay hydrated, use drugs like Topomax and beta blockers
Treat them with "Triptan drugs at first sign of pain or auras

Taking large quantities of ibuprofen can cause a rebound headache so you should really see your internist and get a treatment plan together.

Ask about Tramadol.

I used to get em real bad where nothing works. I have Tramadol now, but to be honest I've never had to use it. I was getting 4-5 headaches a week but nowadays Excedrin migraines work for me every time so I haven't had to use the Tramadol, but it's worth you looking into it.

Now I'm also on a preventive called Verapamil(original a blood pressure med), and it's reduced the number of headaches i've gotten pretty significantly.

I've had migraines for about 9 years now. I also get cluster headaches which make you wish for immediate death. I have a dissected brain artery so I can't take migraine meds. My Dr's recommendation is to ride them out. I have now developed epilepsy my neurologist says may be related to the migraines. Good luck and I wish you the best.

I don't know if they're technically migraines or not but I've gotten bad headaches my whole life due to a cyst in my third ventricle that causes brain pressure to build up. The only thing that relieves it at all is squeezing my skull as hard as I can with my hands. I used to try to get my gf to do it for me but she was always scared she would hurt me

Yep get the type that cause me to throw up, 4 Anacin and I stand under the hottest water I can take directly on my head. Once I throw up it's usually gone within the hour, but it takes hours to get to that point.

I rarely get them but when i do i get migraines with aura, it's like seeing colors and flashes like you just stared at a bright light but didnt and it gradually goes over the entire vision, then gradually goes away with the massive headache setting in

You should see a doctor to rule out other potentially bad things. I used to get them fairly frequently, but not so much anymore. One or two a year, but there are some good meds out there for them that reduce the intensity and duration, or can even head them off if taken when you feel them coming on.

would you believe , apple cider vinegar?

"" As I was about to panic, I remembered Earth Clinic. The first day without my pills I was having a terrible migraine which I expected. I drank 2 tbsp ACV unpastuerized, 2 tbsp raw honey and 8 ounces of water (I warmed the water first, before I added the Apple Cider Vinegar and honey) Because my migraines are extemely bad I had to drink this MAGIC POTION 3 times in 2 to 3 hour increments. After the 3rd drink my migraine was gone completely. For the past 3 days I have been drinking this potion 3 times a day, breakfast, lunch and before I go to bed. I began to feel ...""

good luck...
