This is the most unimaginable pain I have ever felt. I get a really bad migraine once every six months. Always stress related. Two nights ago I got one that lasted for 10 hours. I realize now I need to get some meds from a doctor. With that said, does anything work when the pain starts or do you just buckle up? I've tried Excredrin and tons of water. Zero luck.

when I get one, I go stand in the shower with the hottest water I can stand right on my forehead. What you need to do (similar to being seasick) is change your stimuli to something else and try to break the pain/tension/pain feedback loop

Had them once in high school. I hope I never have to experience that hell ever again. Migraines and kidney stones are worse than child birth.

I used to get severe one's when younger and take shots for them. This time last year I had a headache, not severe, that lingered for weeks and went to dr. After MRI he said I had lesions in pituitary gland but not big deal and something about Multiple Sclerosis with white matter or some shite. Neurologist said I'm just having migraines. He said they may not be severe like used to be but still migraine. He told me lesions are ok and stop eating tomatoes and drinking coffee, basically he was an arse BC Powder helps some, Immitrex? also

Imitrex. It's by prescription but you can get it at a bunch of online Canadian pharmacies. See your family practitioner. Read up on it first.

Try having a migraine and kidney stones at the same time....

Eat a fork full of jalapeño peppers from the jar... knock a migraine out...

Mine made me always come close to puking and I'd get a couple a month. My bro gets them regularly. My bad severe migraines I seldom get now, but I live with regular headaches on daily basis.

I get migraines on the regular. If you have had them for more than a year it's not brain cancer.

I found my triggers(Chinese food, old women's perfume and sunlight at a specific angle without sunglasses).

Sorry for your pain, but, you have to figure out your triggers and work around them.

I have chronic migraines. Mine would last for days, not hours. Would get close to four to six a month. Best medication I have had is Maxalt MLT (prescription). In general will get a migraine under control in just over an hour (depending upon when I catch it - obviously the earlier the better). My neurologist put me on a a proactive treatment program. Now I take Propranolol. Does a very good job of preventing migraines.

Yup. I get a migraine almost once a week, and a cluster migraine that lasts 2-3 days about once a month. Talk about hell!! My cluster migraines are so bad at times that it seems as if my brain stops telling my lungs to breath. There are moments where I will "come to" gasping for air and trying to catch my breath

+1. Get them about once a week. Topamax (Rx) has helped a bit on the preventative side.

the jalepeno suggestion is a good one
a fresh hot pepper is even better
again you must change the stimulus to something other than the pain behind your eyes

I also have the variety that cause me to puke. A lot of times, I look forward to then vomitting as its usually the peak of the migraine and usually means relief and sleep is coming soon.

I started getting migraines in high school. As I've gotten older, they are less intense. The same blurry vision and beginning stages, but the headaches aren't as bad as they used to be. I also noticed that once I fee one coming on, I take 3 ibuprofen, drink a coke, and eat something whether I am hungry or not. It seems to have taken some of the intensity down. I still get one about 3-4 times a year, but I rarely have to leave work for them anymore.

Eta- I am now 39. Started getting them at 16 or so.
