Great thing for LSU and a long time coming

So I am guessing the library is being built in the parking lot where Lockett is now?
Are they tearing down Middleton and opening the quad back up as originally designed?
With about 40,000 students enrolled (grad and undergrad) at LSU currently, this new library will only seat about 6% of students when our peers are at 14%. Typical Louisiana

The new building is set to be 198,000 square feet and three stories. It will be able to hold approximately 2,400 student study seats and will include two general-use classrooms.

Checks the three most important boxes:
1. No white men.
2. No white men.
3. No white men.

“Hey chatgpt make me a rendering of LSUs new library with as many minorities as possible so we can virtue signal how inclusive we are.”

corner of South Stadium Drive and Field House Drive around where the airplane is.
It's down by the power house, ROTC, and the engineering buildings.

By your definition, this monstrosity is the king of soul

Other libraries are shrinking as the publications are going digital. I wonder how LSU is adjusting to libraries keeping books in long term storage and seldom doing non-net searching for history and other references.

How is this location the middle of campus (as stated in article)?

I say keep it like it is and put that towards NIL money..

Incorrect. I said it per se has soul, or in converse, that it per se doesn't utterly lack soul. I'm not arguing the alternative extreme, that having significant natural light is per se maximum soul.
Also, specifically pertaining to your example, simply because a building doesn't utterly lack soul doesn't mean that it's appropriate in every context. The proposed library, while not a facsimile of the predominant architectural style of campus, doesn't really clash with it. The building in your example clashes with what's around it. Put another way, the Empire State Building is gorgeous and oozing with soul, but it would look horrific located on the Île de la Cité in Paris.

You can't say that name anymore. The library was renamed Hypothetical Perfect Person Memorial Library

I think there's maybe one, possibly two white people. I'm counting the robed Jesus looking figure as white.

It's closer to business and engineering which is what matters the most.

I was a sophomore when Middleton Library began service. My wife worked there as lead typist in catalog dept.
