re: Turkey Hunting

Killed in AL, TX and NE.

Battled a ghost in South Dakota for day n half. It got inside of 75 yards twice, gobbled many times; but I never saw it.

Hindsight shows I should have pursued for an ambush on the last encounter instead of waiting.

27 degrees, calm. Across SD border from Four Corners WY.

Wind finally laid down yesterday after rain shower and located a roosting bird. Setup on that bird this AM, gobbled twice in tree…poof, he was gone. Thinking he went out the back over the ridge.
Go through sellers finance company. They will have the answers.

Would be interesting to see sellers total spend on the RV over 3-4 years they owned. Down payment, monthly pymts, maintenance and 9k payoff.

Flipped back into the creek at lunch. Struck up a bird. It gobbled once. It did not come in hot, but it did come close enough. Maybe a hybrid.

South of Chadron, NE - Day 2

41 degrees, calm, spitting rain till 5:30 AM.

Sitting on alfalfa field edge with Jake and submissive hen dekes.

Day 1 was 25mph winds, saw a few jakes and hens in creek bottom hiding from wind like me.

That’s pretty impressive at 45 yards

Modern turkey loads are ridiculous.

Dropped, no flop, a Rio last week at 38 yards with 28g #9 TSS full choke.

I still get cautious on anything outside 45 yds. I passed on a 62 ish yarder last year. Really wanted to see if it could happen.

Benelli factory modified choke

Curious if you patterned modified vs full choke with that load? Understand that it’s not reasonable at $20+ per shell. But did you pattern with a lead load?

LSU vs UNLV was a hell of a game

UNLV brought their cheerleaders that game, iconic!

They did a stunt where the male cheerleader put one girl on his shoulders with feet sticking out in front of him. Then another cheerleader girl put the ankles of the girl on the shoulders, under her arms. Male cheerleader would spin the around. I remember and old dude yelling, “Hey man, you got her facing the wrong way!”
Male cheerleader smiled as he ran back to the sidelines.

I quit the public range when the kid (18ish) in the stall next to me turned around for his dad to take a picture; kid was holding the pistol across his body, finger on trigger, and pointed directly at me.

I dove out the way, while the dad immediately (but late) corrected the kid.

Range masters never saw it. I left amd reported it on my way out.

Keep your head on a swivel.

The frog togg and Roger’s look like the same manufacturer. I’ve seen both in person.
Same group of people shot one north of Houston a few years ago.

This is the swap shop now apparently
Pay the electric bill for a house zoned to the school you want. Get a realtor to find you a rent house and contact to owner to set up. That is how it use to be done.
Oh..is this board now a swap shop.

I have a 5 year old whirlpool washer. Everything works except the pump. You can probably fix it for $25, I don’t feel like messing with it. Currently using it for a worm bed. You are welcome to keep all the worms if you buy it as is.

You can reach me at 504.555.1212. I don’t have the book face and don’t do that text thing. And don’t call when the Wheel is on!
How is this location the middle of campus (as stated in article)?
Here is an image from my property. The OnX line is on top of my fence. But not sure if previous owner put the fence on the property line (he did everything else wrong).

GPS is off by 10-15’. I was standing south of the fence on this screen grab.

If you hurry, you can be part of the group that kills them all. Don’t contribute to the problem.

Population peak has ended. It is time to end all conservation seasons and stop the spring hunting.
