DuckDNA study looking for hybrids

Q: I shot a presumed hybrid, but I’m not a current participant in duckDNA. Is there another way for me to submit tissue for genetic analysis?
A: While we have only a limited number of sampling kits, we're always interested in unique birds or potential hybrids! If you’ve harvested a bird you suspect of being a hybrid, regardless of your selection for the main duckDNA project, you may be able to submit it for genetic analysis. Please send any photos of hybrid birds to duckdna@ducks.org for review to receive a single-vial hybrid kit.

Another data point…a person at work had the same symptoms last week. We did not share any meals or same space. Severe headache and puking that lasted less than 12 hours. Maybe it’s a virus going around town.
Left out another fact. Shared the dozen with a buddy, he reported stinky gas as the only after effects. There was beer, pescador al vapor and ceviche involved as well. All dishes were shared.

I
Caught a headache around noon, became splitting painful around 4PM. At 6PM, puked 7 times. Went to bed. Slight headache in the morning. Started eating regularly. Never had the flying monkeys.

Had 6 oysters the night before around 7 PM. How long does it take a bad oyster to hit you? Or was this stomach bug?

Why does it need new wiring? That might be the deal breaker but everything else is fairly cheap if you’re DIY

Rodent damage. Not sure to what extent. Two of the bedrooms have no power to wall outlets. Suspect it is rodent damage.

The alternative is a 120k move in unit or a 150+++K custom build out

Rehab 25 year old Double Wide

Posted by YbTexas on 11/21/25 at 1:45 pm
Is it worth it to rehab a 25 year old double wide trailer that is used only during duck season?

Unit sits in a pasture with electric on good foundation. No water/mold damage. Roof replaced recently.

Rehab: rewire, flooring, fixtures, showers, paint, foam insulate underside, AC, siding.

The expectation is to get another 10+ years out of it. Am I putting whipped cream on a turd?
Done crane smoked, roasted, fajitas, chicken fried and grilled. Fine eating. Still prefer Speck over all the rest.

New birds ahead of that front?
Spatchcock Smoked a Belly last weekend. Fantastic. Best eating bird in the sky.

Lots of birds between I-10 and El Campo right now

Birds scattered by Sunday. I heard Bucksnag (Garwood) took everyone fishing on Saturday instead of hunting.

Stuff north of 10 filled up on Sunday/Monday. Even seeing a few greenheads in the mix.

Birds were good on Saturday in the Garwood area. Saw 25% of that on Sunday.

Just spent an hour watching the leaves twitch and enjoying the 50 degree weather. Summer sucks.

Good morning. 68 degrees??? Damn front, get moving already.
The best part of the video is seeing the kid’s demeanor change when she signs. He lights up that someone new is communicate with him. Someone cutting onions in here.
I remember one story about bears in the 80’s. Couple of bears walked out of a sugar can patch in St Mary parish during cutting. Besides that, never heard about them.

Now there are bear sightings at Sharp Road (BR), Vida of them walking through beach towns.

What brought the population growth OR have they always been there and social media brings it to light?
